Default Highest tread without rub on stock 2.5i

As title states what is the most amount of tread I can use for a tire using stock 2.5i wheels. I know stock Potenzas are 205/55/16 and am interested in going up to 215 or 225, if possible without rubbing. What is the maximum?

Too late now but think it will really be bad in the snow? I'm used to running the RE92 sucktenzas and it can't be much worse. The SPTs were supposed to be all seasons though.

holy ****, you bought summer tires for the winter

perhaps you don't REALLY have to throw away the re92s, just keep 'em on for the winter and not drive like a moron.. and if it's too late to cancel/swap the order, just keep 'em til it stops snowing

Would be a good idea if the RE92s were not completely shot. I drove those crappy tires into the ground. Front two are completely bald and feathered. And by bald I mean their is literally 0 tread left on the sides. The rears were in okay shape but I must have run over a nail as my drivers side rear tire deflated on me on Wednesday.

I don't know why I thought they were all seasons. I will just have to drive REALLY slowly and REALLY carefully. Pray for a light winter on the east coast.

chech craiglist or some such for cheap a/s or winter tires

ya REALLY gotta be careful any time the temp is below ~40°F and ANY kind of snow/ice will be dangerous

keep looking for some cheap used tires
