1.) Search.
2.) Wrong forum.

You want 2.5L Powertrain or Built Motor.

Your questions have been answered many times already.

It doesn't look like you have a clue what you're doing right now. Please do some research so you know what you're getting into. Asking questions randomly here isn't gonna work, you need to do some actual searching.

You ask for the 'bestest' cams, then the biggest, then the smallest...yeah, at this point I'm a bit afraid to even impart any insight.

hah, man you nasioc guys are mean - come on this guy probably just turned 18, graduating from high school, saved up some cash and bought his first fast car, coming on this board with a bunch of enthusiasm to meet the subaru community and you guys tear him up lol

OP, there's no real answer to your question since cams can come in a custom grind. 280/280 isn't all that bad but you'll need the headwork, though I don't know that you'll see many people running cams period since bang for the buck wise, when you factor in the cost of installation you have to ask yourself if that money is worth it over accepting a bigger turbo with another few hundred rpm of lag

I would put my Tomei 252's against any cam in terms overall peak and under the curve gains, positive effect on powerband/spool, and driveability. They're only baby cams that can run on 100% stock valvetrain, but they produce incredible results.

I have a set of both intake and exhaust cams by JUN. They have a 272 duration and 11mm lift. Imporatant to keep both duration and lift in mind. I love my cams my motor revs in the 9000 rpm range like butter.

Depends on motor and turbo, and what you want to do with your powerband, if your going big power then your prolly going to look into some hi-duration cam... 280s..

Crower stage 1 cams work nicely with OE springs as well.

This was written for different forums but it applies to car forums too:
http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
You just have to replace the computer terms with car terms and it fits pretty well.

I am totally sold on these . They are pricey but proven to work great for a street/track car.

It really is. The way you asked is what set it off. Search around a bit on here. There is a ton of good info. Something like" Hey , I have searched but am still not clear on what I should do. My power goals are xxx. I want to mainly use the car for xxxx. What do you guys think ? " would have reaped better benefits.

no, I'm sorry. I thougt it was a certain member who had made an account to play jokes...the bestest part had me and the reversed cam talk.
I appologize,
Micah
p.s. cams are more a specific setup type of question. There isn't one greatest cam ever. So I think I'll hop over to your 500whp thread since I think you put your desired setup in there?

GSC S3 282/282 Camshafts (11.2 Intake Lift / 10.8 Exhaust Lift)
These are the most aggressive cams I could find for a subaru.

Some camshafts doesn't require new springs and such. Some examples are Brian Crower 260's & 272's camshafts.
