i didnt think much about the vf30's lack of response, I based my opinion with experience on a vf34 which is more or less the same with a roller bearing. my old style pe1820 seems to fit most of your criteria..it hits boost at 4k and doesnt let off till it smacks the redline and is capable of 350whp with good fuel. Some days i wish i didnt pull it off, but im still sorting out my avcs wiring problems that I encountered when i threw on the 35r.

Got some info present and to come for ya dude. I run a dom 2.5r on mine now, and see full boost on pump right at 4k, but I have a ppg helical 1-4...the turbo would be balls with the oe 5spd or a 6 spd. The coming news is tonite I bit the bullet and have my perrin 3076 .82 a/r kit shipping to me next week...I don't auto X, just a weekly drag racer. I am running 93 pump only and am looking for a solid 11 second set up which I think the rotated 3076 will do on 93. I'll post up the results soon after I get it in and on. The dom 2.5r will go up for grabs right after, has about 2500 miles on it at 20-23 psi max. For info purposes, I got a best time of 12.1@115 with the 2.5r so its not a bad turbo at all just not enough lungs for the ver 8 motor at the 1320.

I had a carbonetics 1.5way put in with the gears. And I upgraded the r160 with a cusco 2 way.

![]() So you have a Ver9? Throw some forged slugs in there with a nice cam and some head work/oversized valves if you can. Not to be envious or anything, but I've told myself I can't do anything like that until my block lets go ![]() |

Ok pretty close to finishing the tune...got the afrs pretty leveled to around 11:1, rich spot gone before full boost. Hitting right at 24psi at 3900 rpm in 3rd gear! This is the perrin 3076 kit with the newer 3" exhaust housing turbo, and perrins full 3" down pipe modified by me for atmospheric wg dump...this set up is out spooling my blouch 2.5r by a good 3-400rpms!! I did not use the blow through tube that perrin suggested, but went with a Cobb big maf housing instead.
On a scary side note, doing a 4th gear pull a little while ago, didn't log mph, but somewhere after let off, guessing I was in the 130-140 range, I covered a bit more ground than I was used to, the car decides to settle into a super high speed drift! I nearly crapped myself! It settled pretty quick with a bit of counter steer, but who wants to do that at a buck 40!! Not fun...I had what I went for and drove straight home after that...lol ttyl Trey |

Thanks guys...its the rotated kit 3076 with the .82 hot side. Motors a ver 8 big port heads. I do have a ppg helical 1-4 tranny, that could be aiding the spool as well. If I get a chance later today, I'll try and pull a log showing spool.

Lol...that makes two of us about the track numbers!!
Depending on how well it runs on pump at the track, i may do a c16 tune for the times I'm ready to get booted off the track...I like drag racing a lot, so keeping it at or above the 11.5 limit is fine with me. My main goal is having 11s on pump gas with my day to day tune. We shall see! ttyl Trey |

Good luck! My guess would be mid to low 11s on race and high 11s to low 12s on pump. But it all depends on how aggressive you make the tunes. I look forward to seeing what you do!

Can't wait to see Trey.
I'll post up info on my V9 EJ207 build when it's done. It's getting rebuilt right now with custom forged pistons, rods, heads... Going to try and push it as far as possible with the VF37.. But I know thats not gonna be the end! |

Thanks guys...
Doug, The car as it stands minus the 3076 kit, went 12.1@115 on a dominator 2.5r, so I'm thinking my hopes are not unreasonable. Looking only to be "in" the 11s consistantly on 93, I was thinking 11.8ish at around 118 sounds about right on 93. On race gas, I have no clue honestly. Just thinking it'd probably drop me in below the 11.50 area, but since I drive the car daily, and shuttle my kids around in it still, it has to remain practical, so the extra safty items I'd need for the low 11s club will have to be in the future when I can turn the car into a weekend/drag car and have a truck and trailer at my desposal. I actually have a daily driver that remains parked...but who wants do drive another car when the one you put your heart and soul into is so much more fun to be in...lol Doug...For your 11.9@120 run, what were you running at the time? turbo, boost levels and remaining items and variables that got you there? Happy new years guys! ttyl Trey |

Yes, I've actually never run anything in my car but 93 octane. 12.1@115 with a mid 1.9 60' that was with the 2.5r not sure what the car weighs, but its pretty close to stock weight wise. The only thing I take out are my 2 childs seats, and always hit the track with 1/2 tank of gas.

I was running a GT35R @ 27 psi on pump... other than that, 3" exhaust, cams, intake mani, modded stock wrx injectors, UTEC, DTEC, etc, etc. And yea, I know what you mean... my 4 and 9 year old don't need to be wearing helmets everytime they want me to go super-fast, lol! But, they are most definitely buckeled up The cage will wait... indefinitely.Happy new years back at ya!! def |
