Would it be fair to say that 95% of the power gain was going from 11 to 16psi?

well since the baseline run was also at 16PSI that will have nothing to do with it.

the Z4 ECU that i got with the engine was set at 15PSI. that is what it has been running since i installed.

this is all in the tune...

Rob... any dyno #'s on your chipped setup? I would love to see how it fares against the Z4 and vipec... I believe you said you are at 16.5 psi. I ask because I am still looking into either chipping or full em and staying with the td05.

Oh, ok cool, but that brings up more questions

Any WB data?

The Z4 was chipped to get over the boost cut?

Are those the '04 STi injectors? Was the Z4 running those injectors and if so, was it tuned for them?

blkgm8: No numbers from my setup. I won't think about hitting the dyno until I finish the 550 injector tune. Maybe next time Dave heads to the dyno, I can work something out for him to swap out ECUs for a comparison...

the wideband on the Dyno was not reading correctly, but i do have a WB in my car and it was logging durring the pulls. it was logging 11.5:1 -12.0:1 under full boost. if we went any ritcher than that it started to loose power.

The Z4 was chipped to get over the boost cut?

i dont know anything about this ECU, whe i got the engine with the factory boost reg and sol hooked up it ran at 15-15.5 PSI, and it went Pig ritch 10.0:1 AFR under full boost.

Are those the '04 STi injectors? Was the Z4 running those injectors and if so, was it tuned for them?

they are 04-05 STI Injectors, they were not in the car with the Z4 ECU. when i installed the ViPEC the 440cc's were at 100-110%DC. so i got something a little larger.

i did not show the boost line due to the fact that it lookes like crap. im sure i have a wastgate issue or something. but thats not that big of an issue, due to the fact that i have a VF34 that will be going on soon. along with a new engine and other goodies... but probably not till this summer...

That would be a nice comparison... One more question... Suberdave... When using the 04 sti 550's. I am assuming you are using some sort of rail modification. Such as the collar adapters, or some other rails, Or... are you somehow getting them to work with the factory 20g rails?
I know this has been beatdown in the injector fits thread, but Just wanted to know if someone actually does have sti 550's working in a stock rail.

I know the graph says uncorrected but what was the correction factor really?

I was kind of wondering the same thing. Or just some baseline data like what stock USDM 2.0l WRX's or 2.5l STi's put down on this same dyno would be helpful.

I'm still scratching my head on the 1.1bar Z4 ECU. That's what you'd expect from an STi ECU, not a stock sedan ECU. Are you sure that ECU isn't chipped? Have you ever cracked open the case?

i will try to get some more data this weekend... corrected data and boost lines.

the boost is not as stable as i would like to see. but it peaks right around 16PSI.

i have cracked open the ECU, from what i can see its not chipped...

max boost registered at 18.72 PSI and as you can see on the graph, it never hit any kind of fuel cut...

Fuel cut defenser on the MAP signal? Some funny business is going on with your stock ECU

Back to the tune....where would you say you found the most power on top, fuel or timing? Have you looked your MAF voltage? I bet you are pretty close to the flow limit.

no FCD on my MAF, wiring is all stock.

found more power with timeing in the mid range, witch translated to more power in the top end also. if we added fuel, the power dropped. not a lot but enough to make it unnessacery to add any more.

i just looked at one of my older logs. with the ViPEC, TPS 100%, RPM 8640, Iinector DC 86%, timing 20.2, MAF 4.75v. so yeah it is maxing out the MAF.

this is with the ViPEC not the Z4, but i would assume it would be about the same... good thing the ViPEC uses primarerly MAP not MAF.

I know you weren't asking me but it seems the EJ20G loves timing up top.

Default Congrats!!

Nice numbers...! But im here to help...a lil. I have a close setup to yours as in i have a 95 v2 wrx motor w/td05. Now i also have a Z4 ecu, and my boost peak is the same as yours somewhere in the region of 16.5-18 psi. So use that info if ya need it for reference. Setup in installed in a 2000 coupe. and im keeping and eye on this to see what kind of gains come out once your fully tuned and dialed in.
