I removed stickers the dealers put on the car and there's some glue residue from the sticker. What can I use to safely remove what's left w/out damaging the paint/clear coat?

Goo Gone. Just wash it up afterwards and you will be fine. That is what I used when I had sticky residue left from when I debadged my trunk.

1st try some car polish....most likely that wont work, but try it.
Get some bug and tar remover from the auto parts store. Spray it on and let it sit 10 minutes or so. If the adhesive is not easily removed or remains quite tacky reapply and try again. If your out side and its cold out the adhesive will be hard, get a hair dryer to heat up the area B4 and during removal. After its off be sure to clean the area and re-wax it .....what ever you use to remove the gunk will be forever covered in it, use something that is not your wife's favorite dish towel...... |

I have used clay bar with excellent results. If you are a little reserved about using that type of product (which you shouldn't be) then I have used this over the counter product with good results:

If worst comes to worst, take a razor and lay the blade flat on your paint, be sure to make smooth and consistent passes. Keep it wet with soap and water and be very careful. After that polish and wax.

Try, in this order.
Goo Gone WD40 Bug & Tar Remover Scratch X Clay Bar As stated, rewax the area when you're done. |

If possible, find a plastic razor blade (I've seen them at some auto parts stores) and use that instead of a real razor blade.

I used Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover for debadge... heated the gunk up with a hair dryer and sprayed the remover on. The Bug & Tar remover isn't runny, and I let it sit for at least 10 minutes. It definitely required less elbow grease than the letters that I used Goo Gone on =)

I am with Big-E
3M adhesive remover works great for this kind of thing....no paint damage, no razors. Spray it on, wait 30 seconds and wipe it off with a rag. |

I recommend a product called "Sticker Shock" at Autozone. It comes in a small spray can and it works wonders! De-badging my car was easy with this and it did'nt harm my paint!!

when i debadged mine, i used a good ol eraser, yeah of the pencil persuasion. it took the glue right off. works for stickers too. dont over complicate things!

ive said it before an will say it always, use the products that are made for automotive applications. i mean you could probably use vegatable oil instead of synthetic in your engine.......but we know how that would work out. |

use 3m adhesive removal. That works the best out of all the other methods and is safe on paint. Just be sure to soak the area for a minute or so. You can pick it up at any auto parts store
