Hey where can I find help on my sti that I purchased? I just got a check engine light that came on last night and purchased it litterally yesterday. The car bogged down after flooring it in 4-5th and was shaky just driving it normally in gear (went away after a while of not flooring it). The differential was set to auto. What could it be?

The clutch aint done yet. Had a hard time getting the drivers input shaft out of the transfer case without a slide hammer. Had to rig up a chain and use, yes I am dead serious, a pick axe, to yank it out. Took several hours. It was akin to the shaft pins on the WRX, that type pain in the ass.

Anyway, the new clutch is on but I gotta put the case back on and button it all up tomorrow. It is a raging pain in the dick and I don't want to do it again. I am glad I don't change clutches as often as spark plugs or I would burn the car to the ground. Fortunately, my stocker lasted until 90K so doing this once every few years will be tolerable.

So I removed my coolant over flow tank and replaced it with a perrin catch can and now I get a check engine light about the coolant engine sensor. What gives?

Took Adam, Matt, Robert and myself to get the tranny back on. It really only took like 10 minutes, but thanks to all who stopped by to help.

The spring clip holding the TOB in place was fine BTW. Thanks to Marissa for tiny hands.

It would also help if you tell us what year your car is.

well lowering the car affects the roll center and the car typically will handle worse if you just lower it without doing anything to the swaybars. If you lower the car its going to push into turns pretty bad if you go to fast. Where as the stock car is fairly forgiving and you can make it over or understeer depending on what you want.

If you lower the car i would suggest getting swaybars to help with the understeer that the lowering causes.

I've had 2 of the 3 impreza's I've owned on Tein S tech springs.. both of them were wrx's.. The STi stock suspension handles worlds better than the wrx does lowered even with sway bars.

This time around with the STi, I'm seriously considering either going with a aftermarket spring/strut setup.. or sticking with the stock springs/struts and just getting swaybars.

what ranatsu says is true, im on tein flex coilovers right now w/ stock sways. I can hold a line better in a long sweeping turn but the stock suspension will out do me everytime in short quick turns. I really need to pick up some sways.

As far as whether to go with coils or springs, depends on your plans for the car. if you are lowering for looks and a lil performance, springs. serious street performance, springs and struts. Massive back pain (till u get used to it) but fully adjustable (and possibly the best) performance, coilovers. All these are assuming you choose good quality stuff and get the supporting suspension parts.
