Default TrueCar - find out what other people really paid for their car.

http://truecar.com/release/index.html

I haven't looked at this site too much, but it apparently gives you the out-the-door price of new cars. Not sure how it differs from Edmund's similar tool, but figured it might save a few people some money out there.

... oh yeah, and I already checked to see what they had for the Camaro's true price, but it's too new of a car.

im not sure any of these sites are very accurate with the current incentives out there. for e.g. Chrysler vehicles had crazy incentives that they didnt account for at all.

No idea how accurate, but I think it's a starting point... if it helps save a fellow NASIOCer some money, then why not, right?

menh all they do is say oooh look you shouldnt pay 2-3% over invoice...

very bleh about these sites in THIS environment. they work well when incentives etc are not so well known. Definitely a huge help when dealers aren't hurting for sales.

If anything its somewhat of a discouraging factor since dealerships can say look, people are paying $xxx over invoice, this is therefore a great deal.

actually i retract this statement for the entire site. it seems as if they do have incentive information for certain brands.... they didnt have it for Chrysler which is what I have been looking at the past 2 months.

Well, this site seems to give you actual recent transaction prices. Looks pretty interesting. Kind of sad how some brands don't manage to sell a single car for invoice.

Are these actual transactions prices reported by the owners? or from some other source?

I can't find where on edmunds.com there is a similar feature. Are you refering to the TMV box, where it tells you the private party, trade in, and dealer prices?

Are there any other valuable resources that can determine a fair price for a used car?
