Default I Hate Speeding Tickets!

...Haha, its true!

Anyway, after reading through a couple of those "I got a ticket" threads, I was thinking...

Why not just make it a rule that you cant ask for advice or complain about traffic tickets? It always just gets nasty in those threads, so why even welcome it?

You could post something in the FAQs about "what do I do if I get a ticket in my super fast WRX", and have the list of traffic lawyers, links to RCWs, etc, and call it good?

Just a thought...

I think they should do a ticket containment thread like they did for craigslist.

No, it hasnt. I said they shouldnt be allowed.

I am fully aware of the thread, hence me stating it being used, in addition to links to RCWs, etc.

I totally agree with this idea. Not ALL of them, but most of them are the same questions over and over again.

How about we don't. Just take responsibility for your own actions and pay the ticket or hire a lawyer instead of filling up this section with garbage about how it was so unfair what the police did to you "I was inly going 5 over" BAM Just admitted guilt there is your ticket. The State Patrol, City cops, and sheriffs are just doing there job and making sure laws are followed for safety of the public they are not trying to inconvenience you. If you are polite and don't admit you were speeding you are more likely to just get a warning or here is a genius idea DON'T SPEED! (it works)

I'm not some old man either I'm 19 and have had my car since I was 17. I have one speeding ticket i deffered and I didn't make a thread about it.
OP I hope you

Seems to be some intelligent folks in this thread. I like you all much better than the others from the "65 in a 60" thread.

It seems there are two points of view on this forum, with very few people falling in the middle...

1. Those who are blindly pro-law enforcement, no matter what.

ex, "if you got pulled over, what ever you were doing MUST have been wrong and illegal, and the officer was OBVIOUSLY justified in giving you whatever tickets he gave you"

2. Those who are blindly anti-law enforcement, no matter what.

ex, "all cops are douchebags who are out to get us because we drive imports"

Both points of view are full of overly opinionated douchebags.

(and no, this post isn't directed at any particular members, please don't get butthurt )

I agree with this too my post may seem pro-law enforcement but I am really just pointing out the posters of these threads were in the wrong. We don't need to hear about your run ins with the law. If you need legal advice go to a lawyer.

Woah, wait. What did I do? I'm just making a suggestion to hopefully avoid headache around here. Or is this directed at the posters of the other threads?

How many miles have you driven in each of the two years you've had a license?

How did you defer the ticket you got?

no we don't. If you get a speeding ticket, sack up and deal with paying it. If you get an exhaust ticket, maybe you should get a quieter exhaust. Craigslist and youtube should go straight to OT.

The only time that I see fit for someone to actually start a thread complaining about the police is if they weren't doing anything wrong at all, this doesn't include going 5 mph over the speed limt b/c that's speeding after all, and the cop abused his power. Then maybe a thread could be started b/c it might help the person take some action to prevent this from happening again.

CL and YT straight to OT sounds good to me, but then people will still post the crap here. I say both go in OT, and if you don't post them there, it's a 2 week TO for the OP.

The 'i h8 cops' bs too. We have a number of officers here, and while some LEOs are total douchebags, (officer 227 I'm looking at you) most are decent guys.

I should note, its slightly amusing to me however, that with the number of modified vehicle forums Im on, this one is the only one with the problem of complaining about tickets all the time. I wonder if thats just a coincidence, haha
