Default Engine cleaning place near Falls Church?

Anybody know a good place that does engine cleaning (degreaser, power wash, etc)? My 02 looks like an 02 and I feel bad for her

Just get the engine degreaser from Advance. Cover your alternator, battery, and airbox, then spray with the degreaser, let it sit, then hose it down. works pretty well.

yep. Buy your own spray cans of degreaser. Then take to a coin operated self carwash w/ powerspray wands. I use one on Lee Highway 1 block from Fairfax Circle. Take plastic shopping and trash bags, bungee cords and zip ties as needed to cover air-intake and coil.

I just use the Advance brand; the Heavy Duty variant.

is that a citrus brand? Just dont wanna take a chance with it stripping my paint which is highly unlikely esp. if i spray the car/engine bay down with water.

Just picked up some engine degreaser last night. I'm going to give this a shot today. I'll take before and after pics and post them up. Stay tuned...

Well it cleaned all my plastic parts quite well. Unfortunately, I was trying to get my intake manifold to look a bit cleaner. It turns out the metal is pitted and just looks old. I may pick up an STI manifold to clean things up a bit.

You can try an aluminum brightener on the intake manifold... It'll work tons better and will remove the oxidation that the degreaser is not designed to remove.

Duragloss is pretty good.

My motor is from 2000...this is how it looked with 120k on it in 2006...

This is 2007, I hadn't cleaned the intake prior to the photo though:

I wonder if Scrubbing Bubbles would work on the oxidation. I've read about it being used on engines before and I have used it to clean and brighten up old metal antiques without damage.

Where do you buy Duragloss?

But where's did the intercooler go? </lolzcat>

That looks pretty shiny man. I'll give it a shot on my car this week. I'm tossing around the idea of trading in my bugeye for a new STI anyways...
