Hey all. JDM headlights just showed up and they were sitting in my super heated oven for a car so much so that I just pulled them apart right then and there. Painted the insides and removed the amber cup. Its still morning here but 1:00 or so it should be hot enough for me to mush them back together. Then its just a little wiring and we are good. Trim is all back in a painted but its dirty so I was going to wait till this weekend for interior pics and tonight all take some pica of my $2.50 interior lighting upgrade.

You bake the headlights, separate the casings, pop out the reflector, scuff the inside reflector around the projector section with a little sandpaper/scotchbright, mask it off, and spray a couple of coats of black paint (or whatever colour you want). Wait to dry, assemble.

The main reflector of the high beam and the projector and projector ring are seperate from the front reflective part. Actually very easy to do!

Umm, I got pics of the lights installed. Painted the Grill last night and I still haven't gotten a chance to clean and take pics of the interior or some nice shots of my red interior lighting. All I got is some crappy pics of my lights right after I put them in. I'll take some good pics after a wash this weekend. Future projects include:

Installing my Grill
Custom Taillight Project (Maybe)
Making my headliner black.
Making new twin pipe exhaust tip
Lowering my front another 1/2"
Cleaning up the engine bay
Dyno Mating interior
Covering underbody in Flat ABS plastic (totally streamline underneth)
Brakes

Prolly be moving a little slower as I have another car that I really need to get moving on and done. Car is in a pretty good place right now.

However on a totally off topic side note I have been working on a little project for my Traxxas Slash RC Truck.

Almost done with my new SS roll cage. Weighs only 1lbs and its mounts 2 space tires, a digital motor temp gauge viably and 2 fans for cooling just like the real trophy trucks.

Still have a little fab left and then I can finish weld, grind and paint.

I know it has nothing to do with my Lego but I figure I'd share.

Thanx!

Got my roll cage finished last night and took it for a spin. Its not as top heavy as I thought it was going to be. Its needs some stiffer rear springs and some sway bars but it holds togather a lot better when it takes a tumble and looks WAY more realistic.

Anyhoo I finally got my new grill on! Got the clips from Subaru right after work and threw it on. Night and day difference, its really makes the headlights come together and the car actually looks modified in the front. This is just a stock grill with the center cut out, molded and painted. The hood is still a little jacked up but come spring time I'll probably have a carbon fiber one on it for weight loss.

These pics are a little better but some suspension tweeking and a wash this weekend and I'll have some real nice pics.

Hey, yeah I have a few little updates.

Spent an afternoon cleaning and buffing the sorry excuse it has for paint and cleaned it up a lot. Went back and adjusted the front suspension. Lowered it another 1/2" and cambered it out a bit to get the front end dialed in. Took the EVO X spoiler off and covered the holes in black vinyl. Looks much cleaner now. I have some 5mm spacers comming to so I am going to play around with those to see if I can get a little more aggresive look from my wheels.

Did some work to the interior as well. Got My pedals in and my cluster, radio, and HVAC lights converted to red. Also started on my headliner. Had to take it out because my sunroof wouldn't open and I found that one of the sliders was broken. Can't fix it right now so I took the sunroof door off and painted it and the headliner black with some special automotive fabric paint. Just finished the Dome lights, and oh S**t handles but I am still trying to decide how I am going to go about the sun visors. Should have the headliner back in this weekend so I can finally get some interior shots and night pics of my lighting done.

Car is currently covered in dirt from a few romps in some gravel parking lots so I'll give it a wash and have a propure photo shoot.

Brakes are starting to go south so looking into that and soon I should be jumping back into the engine for some more goodies. I have an extra N/A manifold that I am going to port and clean up. Also a WRX throttle body I have been considering swaping it into the legacay since its bigger.

Pics in a few days sorry for keeping al of you hanging for so long.

Trying to get time to give the legacy some love but I am work on another project that is eating up all my time. I'll try and get some pics this weekend but when the time is right I'll be starting the build thread of my other project and you will understand why the lego is getting put on the back burner.

Black wheels would be sweet! Your car looks great! You gonna tint the windows??? You can also get rid of that gold AWD badge and get a silver AWD sticker from the dealership fror a few bucks to put on your back window... (gives the back a little cleaner look)

Yikes! You put that thing on your car... on purpose?!? I can see it fitting the car, if you did a full-blown body kit. Of course, then you would have ruined the car by putting a full-blown body kit on it. I guess it's a catch-22 in this case. It looks like crap if you do, it looks like crap if you don't.

Besides the wing, you've done some pretty nice work to the car. Keep it up!
