![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() i think my car would go KABOOOOMM at 150+ but i still love it, to me its more fun trying to squeeze the power out of the subie. But the anything with a V8 could be faster with less $. but so could a rocket filled with c4, doesnt mean you can land on the moon ![]() |

. not sure, but i think i might still have the stock long block record at 592whp (35R + VP import and 33psi). the whole "faster for less money" aint true. for my z06 $5500 in mods buys you 100whp (cam/headers/intake/tune) and $5500 in a scooby can buy you 300whp (35r kit + ancillary mods). Both of those setups will make mid 500's, and both will run high 10's/low 11's at 129-130. the best my z has gone is 10.92 at 130.8 with a 1.80 60ft, and when I had a stock long block in my sti with a UR35r kit + supporting mods it ran 11.2's at 129 in mid july heat Rockingham, NC. those comparisons are as close as it gets, for 2 vastly diff kinds of cars. I like all sorts of cars, but life is way too short to love just one ![]() Last edited by burnin4; 06-18-2009 at 01:07 AM. |

Still i love the sound of a Scoob but damn do LSxs come close.
Sounds like pure American whoop-ass. They are not cheap to mod though.....you guys pay what 1300+ for a good Longtube? ![]() Your vette it the light blue one? ****ing nasty man, big props. It trapped an 93-94 in the 1/8 with the 20g. I think I need a bigger turbo. |

. however, with a cam, headers make much better gains. I'm pretty sure i have the only jetstream blue z06 around, I've never seen another one in person.i love the sound of a scooby. I have sonar for them, everything stops in place when I hear a suby coming down the street. however, it's hard to deny this... here's my sti with 280 non avcs cams, which sounds equally as knarly in it's own way... hard not to love them both ![]() |

93-94 is moving out in the 8th mile with a 20g. my all time best was 94, which was a 7.5, and 11.7 at 115mph in the qtr, with a 1.6x 60ft. it wasnt my sti, one of my best friends (jgheels), and it made 390whp on topspeeds dyno with c16....3yrs ago. that was the first time I had ever driven his car, and it was in mid july heat. I honestly think a 20g can go mid 11's on race gas, with the right launch. they scream thru the 8th mile but die up top. great turbo, and for some reason they sound better than most other turbos. I've had a 20g, sz49, sz55, and 35r (.82 & 1.06), and I've driven other rotated mount snails, but the 20g still had the loudest whine.

104 unleaded, 880ccs of 88% meth 12% nitromethane, and a whopping 27-28 pounds of boost on a stock 205 is how i got those times. Motor still hold compression....tuning for power safely is an art i have down pretty wall....not to toot my own horn. I put at least 8+ cars on a 03 Cobra with slicks, pulley kit, bolt ons, and continued to rake cars until i had to lift. Stoutest 205 and starting to question if the previous owner replaced some components. Not to many 205 over 400. With the drag tune it was in the 400-410 range. That 435 on TS's dyno. ![]() I have slips to prove the power that thing put down. 1.8-2.0, 60ft (sticky track = bog); 5.4-5.6, 550 ft and trapping at the 1/8 at 93 or 94 definitely wasn't the driver. ![]() |

And no i'm not racing your vette.
![]() There was an argument the other day......somebody with a 30r STi think he's going to take a C5 Z06 from a 50-140 roll !!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Dude sorry but really........a flying box vs a wet stingray that geared for high speed. Zo6 is and always will be the roll king. Stock they murder 95% of the cars out there. ![]() |

He was and diligent too.......i mean his car is very quick to 120.....then aerodynamics and a massive wing and block face front take effect.
I would like to see that race though. I say the vette walks around him from a 3 car trail at 105mph. You need a at least a 35r and 450-500 to hold a Zo6 to 140. |

I swear, he thinks that his STI is a god car.. It's not even that special. It's a damn sti with a stock location 30r... woohoo.. Fail.
Plus, has he even learned to drive it with FFS yet?, or did you end up taking that off? |

Yea it's not that but i mean your comparing apples to oranges.
Our car wasn't designed for 80-140 rolls. Period......however, he **** is pretty nice, got to give credit where it's due. |

you need a lot more than that. when my z was bone stock, I brutally raped Barkleys 35r/sti (500whp). I mean it was bad . I was giving him the hit everytime to make it more interesting, but the sti's 4th gear only goes to 105 or so and they fall on their face in 5th gear. the only way a scooby can be competitive is going from a dig, and hope you can cut a 1.6x 60ft. they need to be able to get off out of the hole and maintain a lead for as long as they can.I've gotten my 60's down to high 1.7's in my z, but the mt's really helped out. on my cam/headers setup I was running 7.0's at 102mph with 1.8x 60's, I will dip into the upper 6's by next weekend ![]() Last edited by burnin4; 06-18-2009 at 11:53 PM. |

a stock c5z should get beat by a well tuned and well driven sti with stock longblock/30r setup. meth or race gas and the sti would jump out in front hardcore. that's how it "should" go down, but you never know till you run em
