Passed

Had to get a smog because I am selling the car soon.

2005 STI
53,000 miles
Tomei Headers/Up pipe
Maddad V2 Catted Downpipe
HKS Carbon-TI
Walbro Fuel Pump
One Step Colder Plugs
Harman Motive Protuned Stage 2 Base Map

Car initially failed the first test, so the technician did a mandatory preconditioning to test the car again. Which instills holding the car at 2500 RPM for 190 seconds, I'm assuming to warm up the cat. After that it passed with flying colors.

Idle test
HC (PPM)
Max allowable: 100
Measured: 49
CO (%)
Max allowable: 1.00
Measured: 0.11

2500 RPM
HC (PPM)
Max allowable: 130
Measured: 27
CO (%)
Max allowable: 1.00
Measured: 0.10

Car passed the OBD II reading test from the computer with no issues (meaning the reader didn't detect that the CEL Defeats for 02 and Cat were turned on in the map). I was scared that the OBD II could detect the CEL defeats.

As far as visual, tech was concerned whether any of the engine was stock (the red manifold and STI intercooler). To which I assured him it was, honestly though he didn't visually check to see that there were cats in the exhaust system.

It should have no problem passing smog right? Mainly concerned about the Stg 1 and CEL fix. If I do decide to "Revert to Stock" on the Cobb AP, should I reset my ECU? Or this not necessary?

As long as the car is built to meet CA emissions you shouldn't worry.

A catless dp will pass emissions as long as the idle is tuned. I checked my car at work and I actually passed the 2500rpm test catless, but its a gross polluter at idle.

For my 04 STI, I only have a catted Helix DP and a custom ECUTEK tune. If I fail smog is there a fine? Can I just put my stock DP on after I fail without any penalties?
