The RS4 was more of a halo car for the time being and now they have the R8 for that. I assume that the sales for the RS4 were horribly low and think that it may be a good option for Audi, even if it is a bad option for driving enthusiasts. I think the same can be said for the drops. I am sure the cost of development were not met by the profit in sales. I would say that I don't know about the hybrid thing, but I am sure there are plenty of people out there that will snatch up hybrid A4s for a premium.

They sold 14,400 of the previous model. That's not bad at all.

My buddy recently bought a 2010 A4 so we went to several Audi dealers in the area. All of them had left over RS4s, some had several, with steep discounts. So colored me sad but not surprised.

I'm not surprised, even the S4 is a special-interest car.
What really steams me is that you cannot buy an MT Audi wagon in the US at all |

This. It was a VERY handsome car with great capabilities, but it was way more than its competitors. When the S4 closer in price to the M3, but the RS4 competes with the M3 but costs in the $80k range, something is iffy.
I still admire the RS4 everytime I see one on the road, especially in black. |

The have an A5 cabrio no need for an A4 since the A5 is a two door A4 anyway. Too bad about the RS4 but it's not too surprising. The RS5 is still on track.

I never understood the RS4 convertible, two tastes (girly convertible and brawny motor/drivetrain) that didnt need to be together.

Also, RS models were never an all-the-time thing. I'm sure they can stuff a big strong motor in the A4 whenever they want. I think 4-wheels is just over-reacting to a model press release and an RS4 will be coming in a few years. |

Say it ain't so? I guess I failed to acknowledge, outwardly anyway that it was overpriced. I really liked the RS4 but for that type of money....there is better to be had.

What company didn't suffer in sales during that last year+? Go to any BMW dealership and you will see that you can get great deals on the M3 too... I just think Audi just struggled in the pricing arena S4/M3/RS4... tough to sell a car with no marketing either.
