Thanks Guys. I am headed to Sema in about 2 hrs. JUst packed up enough stuff to assemble an M5 in my hotel !! I have been up since 0500 and cant sleep now.

At any rate, if anyone needs anything or has a question, I will be checking emails at 0900( WEST coast time) noon and 6pm and midnight. Other wise someone will be in the office each day from noon to 5 eastern time. My cell works and I am a texting fool, so dont hesitate to text me any questions.

Anybody ask about rebuilds on this yet? I searched and didn't find anything. I want to know that if I'm going to spend 1k on these that they are backed up if they break (or how much for a rebuild if they charge). I'm ready to send my credit card info pending this information...I just don't want to be a guinea pig only to have to go back to stock shocks (if they break) after spending a grand and then have to pay a ton to fix them...

all Bilstein's I've seen are rebuildable, I'll let Myles speak specifically to these

Most have a full factory warranty, but again I'll let Myles comment on that

Yes to warranty and yes to rebuildable. Sorry for not mentioning that. Standard rebuild cost would apply if say 4 years from now you need a rebuild.( 70.00 per corner is on Bilstein's site). I will know details soon.

Do aftermarket performance shocks like these wear out quicker than a stock damper would?

wear is almost impossible to predict- w/ stiffer springs- "sport" dampers will outlast oe dampers

w/ oe springs I'd hazard a guess that the Bilsteins would outlast the oe ones as well, w/ a warranty and the fact these are rebuildable it's somewhat of moot point

Normally when a shock is matched to a spring rate the longevity of the damper increases do to a lack of stress on the internals.

Warranty btw will be at least 2 years.

Thank you for the update. I will send in the order form when I get home from work today, this is what I needed to hear. 2 years is good for a warranty, and ~$70 each is fine for a rebuild. These are pricey, but I am expecting a BIG improvement over stock. For now I will run these with stock shocks, waiting to see what the deal is for the regular guy springs (and until I have more money, lol).

To those who have ordered and are going to order.....any color preferences? I will take it into account. At this time I am leaning towards BLACK, but silver is an after thought too.

Opinions?

^pretty sure the springs are silver? for Reg-Guy and yellow for...whatever the official name for the yellows are.

I like the idea of yellow springs on black shocks. Can't go wrong with black. Silver would look great if you can get it to looked polished rather than dull and grey...

So I guess I don't have a preference other than they look good with yellow springs!

I haven't ordered yet because I keep going back and forth between on if I want the Yellow Springs or the Black springs. If I am not much of a track dog should I get blacks? Are the blacks more gf friendly or would the yellows be gf friendly?

Edit: For colors I think silver or black would be hot.

Are we talking about colours for the springs, struts or both?

He's talking about the struts....the RCE Black springs are black and the RCE Yellow springs are yellow. That part is kinda set in stone.

Ok, so black for the shocks/struts. Plain and simple. Same for the springs. Stealthy FTW.
