I really want to try this. However, my bugeye does not have maplights. Where/How would I be able to wire this in?

You could tap any constant 12v circuit. Since the next closet cluster of wires is at the fuse box, it would require you to extend the wiring along the top of the windshield, and down the driver's A pillar. Without a wiring diagram in front of me, I can't remember which wires are good candidates.
