There is a break in procedure for the clutch types...it involves doing figure "8"'s in a parking lot till you want to puke. |

much easier to go one way in circles for a bit, then the other, but yes, very pukey!
I have found the Kaaz/Cusco options are a step up in feel and overalll track speed compared to a highly preloaded stock unit. My preference would be ATB front, DCCD centre and aftermarket LSD rear. Currently still using an 04 Spec C stock gearbox in our track car. I wouldn't worry about kerbs and diffs especially, if you're bouncing off kerbs and getting a wheel in the air consistently, you have other things to worry about! |

I'll chime in on my 5 speed '03. Track car only.
Started with a set of PAR straight cut syncro gears, Cusco center and MZ front, and MZ rear with a R160. GT35R 400+WHP. Tore 3rd gear coming out of Oak Tree at VIR. Tranny still sits as per from last year on my bench. ( Yet to go to Andrewtech.) Loved the control, loud and clanky, but loved the control. Purchased a used PPG 5speed dogbox with Quiafe front. Installed the Cusco center from my blown tranny. Again loved the control. Tore 2 R160's to bits in 4 months. Sheared ring and pinion teeth. So, I get a stock '08 3.54 R180 with the stock diff. It SUCKS. I lift the inside right rear tire on the exit of 2 and Oak Tree and it's nothing but spinning, lost time and tire. I will be getting another Cusco Mz 2 way for the R180 rear, before the next season. I think the slight pushing of it being"too" aggressive is much better than watching my RH tire leave nothing but a stripe in my rear view mirror. FWIW, and I ain't no racer, lol. L J |

Slightly OT:
Are you the guy with the yellow car, recent pink numbers? If so, I've been meaning to catch you for quite a while now and ask you for a ride. Hell, even if you're not that guy, it seems like I need to catch a ride ASAP. Less OT: I have a slightly different application: less power. Most folks chiming in seem to be running lots of power. I'm at a relatively low power level. I wonder how much diffs matter on a car that doesn't really have the potential to spin tires anyway? I'm on 300lb/in springs and stock sway bars, and NEVER lift tires. Perhaps I need some more ass under the hood to truly join this discussion... -Matt |

I've been running cusco 1.5's front and rear, tarmac center in my 04 wrx(ra gears) and haven't had any issues yet as far as the tranny or rear end...but i've been waiting. Otherwise, the car is 100% more fun to drive on the track.

In what way is it more fun?. Faster around the corners or more drifting style.
