Default my new hydra

I just recieved my hydra earlier this week. This peice of gear is beautiful. Installation was quick and easy. The setup was easy. I didn't have to mess with the idle pid setting because the base map had the correct settings for me. The 2.6 software is easy to navigate through. My car sounds better and acts better. The only problem i have ran into is boost control. I have a grimmspeed ebcs and it doesn't work very well with the hydra. no matter what setting i used or how i hooked up the lines on the ebcs it just did not want to do what i wanted it to. My fix for this is to use an external boost controller and set my max boost to at my set psi.

Did you have the output frequency for your BCS set to 30hz?

yeah the output frequency is set for 30hz. but i don't know why i'm not able to control the boost. I figured i would just get an external boost controller and just regulate it like that. seems like the easiest for me to do.

Did you have any boost control at all or was it just not reacting fast enough? Maybe if you describe your problem in detail we can help you avoid buying a separate controller.

its like it isn't acting at all. and depending on how i hook it up i can either hold wastegate pressure or i will over boost and hit my set psi. but when i did my base pull before adjusting anything it hit 26 psi. i should not be anywhere around there. i've tried everything. i'm just going to sell my bcs and get me an external boost control source.

It sounds to like it's not configured properly if it's not working at all. There are a couple things you can check such as the BCS actually being on the output you think it is and that output being on the right PWM and that PWM having the correct x-axis. You can set the boost control threshold to zero and you should get the BCS pulsing at idle that way you can get it working and not keep over boosting your car.

So I'm assuming you have it run to the top port of an external waste gate. Does your wastegate PID map slope up to the right? It's also important that the hoses be on the correct ports of the BCS so that when the BCS is in it's normal state air can pass from the compressor housing to the wastegate and when it's energized air can flow from the wastegate to the vent on the BCS

i have an internal waistgate. i realize what the solenoid is suppose to do. i talked to element tuning earlier today. I'm going to try some of the things that phil said and see if i can get it under control. if i am able to i will probably keep the solenoid that i have. If it comes up with the same results that i have been getting i will just get an external boost control source.
