91 Legacy 4EAT into 93 Legacy

I have a donor 91 Legacy that I was going to pull the 4EAT from to put in my parents 93 Legacy (also an automatic, but its broken

). Both are non turbo.

Anyone see any potential issues with this? I'm not saavy enough on the Legacy stuff to know if the ratios/differential are different, etc.

Only major consideration is the gear ratios...you'll have to count the number of teeth on the ring gears through the drain plug opening. If they are the same you are good to go.

Hmmm OK. Anyone know if there were different ratios for different years? I was hoping that for the year range that these models were out, that all of the NA model Legacy's would be the same.

I guess that would be the easiest way to know for sure, but I was hoping to know before even buying the donor car. Thanks for the help so far!

there was generally 2 different ratios. The only way to be sure is what I suggested. Wheel and rim size can make a difference as well as models and year...too many variables to be 100% sure.

The 90-91 Legacy AWD non-turbo AT's have a 4.111 final drive ratio. The 92-94 Legacy AWD non-turbo AT's have a 3.90 final drive ratio. If they're FWD, the final drive ratio is 3.70 and are the same for the 90-94 Legacy.
