This is in line with what the guy with Evo was talking about. The short rear end of the Evo and STi causes airflow to roll back under the car. He moved his stock wing back on the trunk lid but still had too much drag. I'd like to see wind tunnel results with the wing above since it is further back on the lid and is essentially on the same plane as the lid i.e. less drag.

So I guess you've decided to keep the '05 STi. If so, finish the damn thing and get it out there in March!

Thanks for the info - extremely impressive. I can relate to the crosswind bobble... I had to pull the seat fabric from my ass after the last run Friday when the car walked sideways after hitting the brakes (AWD FTW). I didn't read the entire project thread so I may have missed it...what trans / final drive did were you running for the 194.8?

On a separate note, after Andy Forrest's webpage I was fascinated with the best of 3 and 5 race events hosted in the UK - very cool stuff.
For the 194.8 run, we had a ppg 5 speed box with a 3.9 final drive.

The car now has a ppg 5 gear dog box in a 6 speed housing with a 3.9 final drive. The gears in this box are really tall, with 5th geared to do 230mph at 8000rpm iirc.

Ten of The Best is a superb multi discipline event.

The only measurement is from the timing box at the last 132ft of the mile.
