You must have damaged ear drums if you think the Cobb is worthless.

Hmm, see I drive a sedan and I do have a slight issue with noise at approx 70mph. There is definite resonance at that speed/rpm. If I have an empty trunk, it can be annoying. A few coats in there and it quietens down a lot.
I have no idea what sort of resonance you'll get, or not get, with the hatch. |

would you consider it annoying at that speed and would it bother you after a while driving?
I'm thinking a little dynamat might do the trick on the spare tire well and under that area. |

I personally like the TurboXS exhaust. It is cheap and it relatively well built from what I have read...some rattling issues have been noted due to contact with the heat shield which I believe kartboy hangers and some exhaust wrap was able to cure. Sounds mean, but not really loud:

That sounds horrible in that video. I do like the actual exhaust sound but I think I'm leaning to the perrin, yeah it's more but it'll just match the header setup and all that I'll be putting on a year or so later. I'm kind of a stinker for matching products. I might have to wait a little bit on the exhaust though because I'm going to get a 3M clear bra installed on my car so I don't have to stress about bugs and junk messing up my front end! It would really suck if I got chips on the front end and seeing as I do a fair amount of interstate driving I need to protect that ASAP before I go putting an exhaust on her. |

Just be careful about the 3m bras. Call the company and talk to them. A bunch of them were yellowing in the first month on the car. A friend of mine went through two of them on his RS4, then they switched companies (sorry, I don't know who) and the bra held up. |

He's one of the advertisers on one of my sites. I have to call him up and schedule it all out and all to get it done. I'm hoping to get it done this weekend if not next. I was going to order the exhaust this week but I think I'll wait a little bit before I do it. I'll wait till she's past the break in period maybe. or at least 3k miles before I start with the other mess. hell I'm at 100 miles as of right now and by tomorrow evening it'll probably be around 250ish. I did hit close to redline today but I had to put the dumb mustang in his place, that was a requirement, lol. But yeah I've been averaging around 22.6 mpg on this tank so far. I'm loving all the features of this car, so glad I chose to get it. Last edited by Matt A; 02-11-2010 at 11:06 AM. |

you shouldn't have to worry about that one at all with a Cat Back Exhaust (CBE) which this is what I'm looking at getting. Typically the warranty comes into play when you start with up-pipes and down-pipes. And it wont necessarily void the warranty. Only if it's the cause of the problem that you are having but sometimes they will use it as a cop out.
