Ok, its been a while since i've had a subie so i ned some input please. I want to reach at least 275 hp to the wheels on my '08 WRX. I will be going to Colordo Springs, Co to MAC Autosport where they have a Dynojet 248/224. I live in Rapid City, SD which has an elevation of about 3,200 ft, however I will be moving to Warner Robins, GA where the elevation is approx 300 ft. I usually use 90 octane but i do have access to 93, and i am def not opposed to a FMIC, whatever it takes foe me to reach my goal. I currently have a Perrin DP with a high flow cat, and a perrin light weight crank pulley. I would very much appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

You're gonna need a larger turbo (VF52 or larger) and you're gonna want to start using 93. Don't waste your time with a FMIC for such a minor upgrade.

You will never see that power on the stock turbo. Also, why are you using 90 octane when you have access to 93?

The car is not currently tuned. The person that had the car before me did have an Access Port hooked up. As far as the 93 goes, the gas station was down for pump replacment, but it will be up and running in no time. Where would reccommend I look for an upgraded turbo? Theres so many sites! Thanks all.

Stay completely (100%) out of boost until you get retuned.

The VF52 from the '09+ WRXs will bolt right up and work for your goals. Check out the classifieds for used ones.

Shut up. There is no point it trying to scare someone in the "omg I need a tune every time I loosen or tighten a bolt!!" mentality. Everyone likes to say they tune for every mod but not everyone has 350 bucks to add to every mod they do. I have seen an 04 Wrx NO TUNE run a 12.99 at PIR. So stuff it with the whole tune constant crap. The fact is you shouldn't go smash on the car with things that change the way the car runs however you can drive it and enjoy your boost. As for your power goals. You need to decide if this will be your end goals. Or at least consider it, maybe go with a new turbo and just keep it conservative and make your 275 goals, and when you are ready for more add some bolt ons and go more aggressive Last edited by neversummer489; 11-09-2009 at 06:19 PM. |

I knew someone who ran a completely untuned twin turbo 350Z (he installed his Greddy kit a week earlier) at the track as well. A month or 2 later he was without an engine and this took his car off the road for just over a year while he saved up for a near $10k engine replacement. |

Long story short your friend is an idiot and you don't need to tune for a dp unless you feel like spending almost 800 for a downpipe plus a tune. |

I took car of my car it never ran unsafe. I made 341 whp on a stock trans and internal 02 Wrx I think I did ok. As for the op the mods he has as of right now do not require a tune nor does it put him in a adverse situation if he makes any boost. Your original post was misguiding you have yet to give proof to your statement. Untill you do so I don't see why you continue to post in this thread... If you would like I'm sure I can get you in contact with my tuner that advised me to drive my car to the shop on a stock ecu with 820 cc inj 38mm ewg full catless exhaust hta68 turbo all fueled by e85, also with the tgv's freshly deleted. Btw his shop is 60 miles away his only advice was don't drive like an ass hat. So go ahead and run your mouth, your still wrong and wasting the op's money

You are potentially wasting the OP's money and time, and a lot more of it it too considering a tune is much less expensive and time consuming than a shortblock replacement or rebuild. |
