Sigh... yes and $40 for the app. But for what it does, it's worth it.

It will work with other adapters besides the KiwiWIFI. It just has to use the 802.11 wireless spec to transmit the ODBII data. There is a list of adapters that work with Rev on their page, just click the Hardware page. It's just that the KiwiWIFI is the cheapest and easiest to get in the US.

My only issue with this is that there is no real help out there for those individuals that purchase it. You hear a lot of "it works great" but no one really break down and explain the ins and outs of this product. After Doing the whole bee-r limiter install blindly i doubt i want to jump into something else like this again.

Amos - Try this:

1. Plug in your wifi adapter and turn it on.

2. Go into your iPhone settings->wifi-> and make sure 'PLXDevices' is the network you are connecting to. When you are connected, the wireless adapter will have a solid green 'link' light on. Make sure your using DHCP on this connection.

3. Start up the Rev app, go into settings and then hardware. Make sure you have the correct wireless adapter selected.

If it is connected and receiving data, there will be a green check mark in the upper left corner of the app. If it sits there for a while and doesn't do anything, exit the app and start it up again. Sometimes a full reboot of the phone helps as well. The app will not receive data if your car isn't on, so crank up that engine!

Let me know if that works...

If there is enough interest in this product I could take some time and do a write up, but that's best saved for another thread...

Neat! I just bought and accessport, so I won't need this... but i wonder if it would work with a 96 impreza 2.2l -if so my friend may be interested... since there is no Accessport for his vehicle to monitor stuff...
