Went to the Charlotte Auto Show today.....
First off, apparently everyone is putting the auto-stick thing in their cars, and about half are doing it wrong. I also got to see the Porsche system and it is SUPERTARD. Back to the matter at hand, though.... Kia is beyond supertard. They had a moderately equipped Forte Koup there. It lacked the "mood lighting" and other ricey stuff inside, and only had cloth seats. The sticker price on it was $19,900. Across the room, Scion had a new TC sitting there. It was pretty well decked out. I think they all come with the same basic equipment, and you only add cosmetic parts like a spoiler, floormats, etc as options. It still had the double sunroof, similar MP3 player hookup on the stereo, a proper transmission in it, etc. There was no sticker, so I asked the sales lady.... $17,900. So again, I'm sorry, there is NO WAY that Kia is worth that much more than a Toyota. I don't care that it has an extra 12hp and an extra .2" of front headroom.... Kia still hasn't earned enough of a reputation to charge more than their direct competitors. Also... $20,000 for the Soul? KIA PLEASE! ![]() |

Just bought a 2010 KOUP SX a little over a month ago... Best car-for-dollar amount I have ever paid. That includes my former 3 Subaru's, VW, and Mitsubishi. It kicks the hell out of the Scion and Honda Civic... Got a 6-speed manual with sunroof for 17.5k... Anyone who hates on this car without ever checking it out are total fanboys of the "bigger guys" and should probably take their head out of their ass. (Especially now that Toyota has been de-throned by VW... haha). I LOVED my Subaru's, but there was a time when damn near no one would touch a Subaru and they turned out to be a great car company; with time. I honestly still can't believe sometimes I bought a Korean car, but it feels like my most solid small car, yet. Hyundai and KIA have got some great ideas nowadays...
Just my 2 cents... |
