By definition any car with four doors is not a sports car......but hey, people are ignorant.
Although coupes make up the majority of cars that fall under the "sports car" category, there are plenty of 4 doors that do too

it's unfortunate that ppl have that "2 door is a 100% sports car" mentality.... Civic, Focus, Camry Solara, Accord, tC (just to name a few)

I picked up a buddy of mine and he was with his friend.
As soon as we got into the car his friend asks me: " Is this a big V8? "
I did not know how to react without making him feel stupid.
He was really shocked to find out that it is only 2.0L 4 cylinders

I thought the insurance company rated the catergory of a car by its horsepower. Except like SUVS. I could be incorrect but just chiming in.

THis guy told me his cobalt SS (the new 2.0T) could do a 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.

This is absolutely false. All sports cars are 2 door. Not all 2-doors are sports cars, and absolutely no 4-doors are sports cars.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not ...

What I meant was that in the sports car category, most of the cars ARE coupes. IE Viper, Ferrari, Lambo, etc, NOT cars like the Civic, Accord, etc. However, you can't say that there are absolutely NO 4 door cars that are sports cars. Cars that come to mind are the Porsche Panamera, Lambo Espada, perhaps even the Nissan Skyline R33.

Ignorance is bliss, I guess...

I just like that insurance is cheaper for a 4 dorr then a 2 door. Back when I was in college insurance was a lot more for a 2 door Grand AM then the 4 door I went with.

Today walking up to a resturant, this little boy runs out and yells, "daddy I want this car!" and hugs the front fender of my car. I just did a full detail on it and I didnt even care about his grubby little hands on my car, it was so funny.
