You don't need to be, but by SCCA sanctioning, they'll transfer on the up to $15 dollar insurance fee if you're not a member. I can't remember if RVSCC charges just $5 or the full $15.

ALSO, they will require a deposit (usually $5) for the car number you'll need to run the event. The numbers are magnetic, so if you have aluminum doors, etc bring tape.

Last year neither my driver or I were SCCA members and it didn't cost us anything extra!

Looking for a seat for this rally. I have run this since 2005 and came in 2nd place out of 23 last year. I can drive or navigate competently. PM me!

Figured I would chime in here as well.

I'll be attending again this year - I'll be co-driving in my friends Colorado.

We will be bringing an array of tools, straps, come-along (hand winch), floor jack & other items. I will also bring my spare WRX wheel/tire in case if someone needs a spare for some reason. If you need anything please feel free to ask us.

Awesome, thank you! I too will bring a spare 16" WRX wheel/tire if anyone will be in need.

Should be a decent shakedown for my rally car. See everyone there!

More of a shakedown for everything else except the car. Except that they are closed controls. So not too much of a shakedown for anything stage rally related.

Well yes of course, but this will be the first outing for my car with a cage on dirt. So there is some form of a "shakedown" for lack of better words.

We'll be there running a Jeep Cherokee (RWD Only ). Hope that enough of the skinny pedal will get us through the sand alright, think the ground clearance is a non-issue. Will have an assortment of hand tools if anyone needs anything.

this was fun! Too bad its the last one ever.
Question, about 5 miles into the first section a car experianced some... technical difficulties. I know there was someone taking pictures, if this person is on here, could they post them up for all to see the amazingness that was my driver. Thanks!

:-( Go figure, 4 years of running this event, and I miss the last one. Boo!

Glad you had a good time.

Well direction wise, this was the worst that I have ever witnessed (and I've ran it since 2001). Several tulips and mileage errors made for a pretty big party in the woods.

Still fun regardless, just not as much as previous years.

Disclaimer. I any not in any way officially connected to the organization that put on the rally. But for new people running this event as the first rally ever, from someone in the rally community that has been running rallies for ~30 years (and this event several times since the mid 80s), I appologize for the worst set of tulips I have ever seen and hope you don't think all rallies instructions are like this. I've rally mastered several TSD rallies in the 80s and if my tulips/mileage/etc were ever any where close to this bad, I would have been hung. Also this years route was the roughest I've ever seen down there (and the most water holes which the rallymaster had no control over with all the rain recently). So don't be disallusioned. I hope everybody managed to find their way to the end. I know when we got to Wendys at the break, there were several people there that had given up on trying to find the correct route and had just gone to the break location.
