Angry Ot - Ba F****d Me Over!

Does anyone ever travel using British Airways miles?

What a bunch of complete MUPPETS!

I travel to the UK average once a year to visit family and friends, and as I have a BA credit card with RBC, decided to use my miles to pay for the flight ...

Upon transferring 50,000 miles to BA following the advices of a BA rep on Monday, I have been told in many different way over several hours this morning, that I should get lost. I wanted to travel in mid May 2010 ... and apparently the "miles" seats have been booked up since December 2008!!

Of course, the BA rep on Monday did not feel it was necessary to advise me to check on this ... although they of course use the failsafe of "subject to availability" ...

I ended up checking the website in greater detail and it did in fact confirm that people are booking up approx. 1 1/2 years ahead of time on the BA miles .... being single, 30 and a Mooseman, I have absolutely no idea when or where I will be in that time ... not even God knows that!!

So basically, I have been shafted by BA's corporate banditry.

50,000 BA miles sitting there rotting away ... great.

What a great rant ... I love rants ... but most of my best rants are about women ...

Anyways, Mooseman out.

AC only allows you to book up to 12mos in advance online. And I guess you had to pay the full tax on your mileage seats?

I laughed at "complete MUPPETS". It reminded me of this.

I just transferred my Avion (RBC) points over to BA miles (End of January they give 1.5x your Avion points) as I do every year and now you got me worried I need to book my trip a year and a half in advance? I've not heard of this issue until now. I know last year the fiance's mother sent her son to Europe on her Avion/BA miles and they booked a month before he left, no problems. I wonder if it was through Avion that made the difference? Hmmm, now I need to investigate

Can't you get them to transfer the points back to the card?

I would also have all your points transferred to the regular Avion card... you can fly on any airline you want with out restrictions (other than capped ticket prices) but no seat/blackout periods.....

While you might be getting more points, they are useless if you can't actually use them!

Personally, I have about 350,000 Avion points that I've been saving up for when I want to go to Hawaii when the kids are older and I have to actually buy 4 seats!

Hopefully by then, I'll have enough points to last me forever!

Anyways, I'd probably stick with the regular Avion rather than transferring over to BA...

I transfer to BA as I flew with them last when I went to Europe and will be doing the same come Autumn of 2011 when I go to Europe for my honeymoon.

Like I said in my post, this issue is new to me and never had this problem, nor did the future mil last year when she sent her son over to Austria.

Everyone ****s on my threads lol I don't care

Right, STAY AWAY from transferring points to BA from Avion card! One way transaction only, no getting them back onto my Avion now

Following on from my post, I spent about 2 hours on the phone with RBC Avion travel dept. and got the flights booked (excluding taxes, fees etc) with my remaining points, which I am thankful for

My advice, book it through RBC Avion, stay away from BA

The guy at BA told me that people book flights 12, 18 months + in advance, even if they do not want to use them and at the last moment, transfer the points to later or different flights. Given that the allocations available within BA for "miles" passenger are very limited, they go quickly, apparently.

Now ... back to your ****ting fellas

ps - one day one of my posts will actually be something useful and you will all **** on it, and then you will all miss out and I will laugh, LAUGH I tell you !!! All the way to the bank
