I keep hearing on NPR that our state (along w/ many others) is in a budget crunch. Anyone else here subscribe to the conspiracy theory that speed traps are just more ubiquitous lately? Just the other day, I drove past 2 of them on my way to work, and they were in places that you could possibly not see until it's too late. In the past, minor offenses might have gotten off w/ a warning, but not today, while the state is looking to raise funds.

Only state troopers bring in money for the state is my understanding, the local cops collect money for there towns? no??
