Manual windows to power windows?
Hey guys!
I am starting to scope my dream project, a 2dr impreza w/ a 22b kit and sti swap Looking at all the different availble 2dr imprezas out there...the cheapest by far is a L w/ manual windows. I should have never sold my 2000 RS How hard is it to go from manual windows to power? what is required? I know I would need RS/JDM door cards and power switches...but what else? -Kyle

Hey Kyle,
I went from manual windows to power windows in my swapped 96' wagon. It's not too tough. You need Door wiring harness Complete power window assembly Door cards w/ switches That's about it. The wiring going to the door is already there, even if the car didn't have power windows, so you just need the wiring from the door to the car. Remove the door cards, unbolt the window/track/crank etc, bolt in power window, track motor etc. Swap in wiring harness, and put on power window door card. |

Awesome thanks man!
Power windows are a must for me, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't too difficult to swap. The price of a 2dr L compared to a 2dr RS is crazy. |

Manual windows to power windows?
It will take a few hours but pretty straight forward job. I swapped my Ls manual to power. I've stripped a 93 L wagon for a 24-hour of Lemons car so I have all the hardware if you need something cheap. Unfortunately I don't think the power window assymbly will work, but the harness should, not to mention all the nuts and bolts to secure the motor to the door.

Been thinking of doing this on my 95L wagon. Will an 02-05 WRX door card work as well, including the wiring?
