First make sure you are talking to a recruiter that is for officer's. There is a different recruiter for enlisted and 0fficer's. What branch you looking at? There are military college's.

i already have a bachelors so i believe my only option to get commissioned as an officer is through ocs/ots.. i'm looking to be in the airforce

i know that most recruiting offices are for enlisted, so the office closest to me that caters to all branches had all enlisted guys working in them.. the next closest recruiting offices east and west of me are 15-20 miles away in both directions, which i will visit once i'm able to drive again

so far, i've been trying to get ahold of anyone in the airforce for over a month already with no one answering the office phone and no luck after trying a cell phone number from the ppl in the nearest af recruiting office.. idk why it's so difficult to get ahold of that office, so that's why i'm gonna have to drive out a bit

i personally know only one officer out of all the guys in the military i know of and he's telling me that if any other branches can give me a better opportunity, i should grab it before it's too late.. so i ought to keep my options open as well

though idk if it's just me, but finding an officer extensions recruiter seems to be quite difficult as all i could find were those for enlisted

to answer your question about becoming an officer; if you did not got to a military academy or do ROTC while in college the only other way to become an officer to my knowledge, unless they have changed it recently- is enlist and put in your packet for OCS (officer canidate school) the school it self is quite a challenge. you can also go to something called WOS (Warrant Officer school), warrant officer; its the technical leadership side, still considered an officer, but with a few differences. if you have any questions regarding that please shoot me a pm.

I have been TDY to many places I would have to say my two fave were Escon Village in saudi and cant remember where we were at in OMAN but it was bad A$$. I have been to Iraq twice King Salmon AK, Wendover and Dugout Ut twice each. I have been to Vegas for red flag ya that sucked <---- Sarcasme) Jackson hole Wyoming was a nother one that was just terable. Honestly I have been tdy in the states about 3 times as much as over seas. I really cant complain about any of the TDY's I have been on I have had a good time no matter where I am at. Most recenty I was in Canada for 3 weeks. Cold Lake Alberta Canada to be exact. Ya that was boring as hell, but we had a 4 day weekend so we went over to Jasper National Forest. That place was awsome. In cold lake We hiked 19 miles and ran atleast 5 every other day just to keep us busy.

It gets boring after a while in tha same shop. If you do cross train plan on switching bases or shops to keep happy.
