Default 2004 WRX, 05 LGT Block + 05 STI head... need help

Ok so long story short, blew the engine in my 04 WRX.

So far I have a EJ255 05 LGT block and was looking at buying a very clean pair of 05 EJ257 STI heads for cheap.

My question, what am I getting myself into? I have been doing research on AVCS and I am scared and confused. First of all, would the ECU hook right up? The guy I bought the block from worked at a dealership, he said that I would be able to reflash the ECU. I was looking into it and a flash from a 06-07 WRX would be most compatible engine wise...

I'm looking for input, is it as easy as i think? Starting to think not.

You cannot just flash your ecu. You will need complete wiring harness and ecu from a car with avcs or a stand alone ecu that you can wire avcs on your own. Either way it's not simple.

If you searched so hard why didn't you get half way down the page to the EJ25x swap guide?

Ahahahahaa you so funny.

You don't have to run AVCS. Just leave the solenoids unplugged. It's not like it's going to not run. sheesh... people. Just install your intake manifold on it and go get a tune for the different loads and such to match your setup.
