Event: Dyno Tune !
Location: THESHOPCT | Norwalk, CT Ambient Temp: 75 degrees Elevation: sea level Weather: Dark outside - very dark ! Car: 2005 STi - 75K Tuner: Visconti aka BUILTSTI Dyno Info: Dyno Dynamcis @ 1.2CF Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: 240WHP Just got off the dyno a little while ago. Wow EcuTek has blown me away !! huh ? What? - ya ! The new EcuTek RaceRom is just awesome ! ![]() What's RaceRom? RaceRom is EcuTek's new product that will allow new advanced ECU features in our Subarus. Some of the Key Features - -On the Fly Map Switching -Launch Control -Proper No Lift Shift (As in it doesn't break your motor) -Per Gear Boost Control -Speed Density The test car tonight is currently just a basic 05 STi Tonight's mission wasn't to make a new HP record on a VF39 but to get my hands dirty with EcuTek's new RaceRom. Mods: 1 Step Colder plugs Intake Turbo back Exhaust EcuTek Race Rom Map 1: Pump gas 93 Octane Launch Control Map 2: 100 Octane Launch Control No Lift Shift Auto-Blip Per Gear Boost Control Car put down 332whp - 335tq 18psi on Pumpgas 355whp - 370tq 18.5psi on 100 Octane. All of the new EcuTek features I tested worked flawlessly. A side from being able to switch to a racegas map on the fly my next favorite feature is the "auto-blip" that car now has. Basically when your slowing down + down shifting the car automatically blips the throttle for you. I wasn't too sure about that feature myself, but I swear it puts smile on my face every time I use it - its just so darn cool ![]() With the Per Gear Boost Control I was able to dial in the boost better. The car now holds better boost in first, second, third gear with out the car over boosting in the taller gears. Once I get caught up at the shop I'll spend some time setting up one of our High Horse Power Subaru's with EcuTek RaceRom. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

John I really appriciate what you did for this car. Just to let everyone know I baselined on a map that John put in back in December and still put down 325awhp.
--This new software really streches the limits of what the stock ecu can do, as you can see with the autoblip feature and multiple maps with a press of a button. I REALLY like the the car drives now. The powerband is so much more linier (sp?) now, as in how the torque and hp powerbands match in the fun spot this thing really holds to redline, smooth as butter. --I also noticed the launch control sounds slot better, I'm seeing about 12-13 psi on the the boost gauge and it really doesn't sound as violent as the tinywrex lc mod when holding it for a few seconds. --I'm looking to go back to the track in a few weeks for an annual drag day held by ccdsm at Lebanon. It will be nice racing in 60* weather rather then 90+ But until then I'm back on the regular ecutec maps. I just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with the software, and I cannot wait for it to be back on the car!!!!! I'm hoping to beat the 12.70 @ 108 on pump but really hoping to smash that time with some 110oct ![]() Last edited by ScooobaSeth; 09-16-2010 at 09:08 AM. |

That boost per gear would be a nice feature! That means you can crank up the lower-mid range gears while not over boosting on the highway.

Thanks for all the PM’s, E-mails and telephone calls!
I want to apologize for not being very clear on my first post. EcuTek RaceRom is still being beta tested by select EcuTek dealers across the world. As of right now RaceRom is not on ANY customer cars and won’t be until it’s 100% ready. I’ll have a video for you guys in a few days! Quote:

ecutek really lost favor due to licensing fees and their ECU lock down. Its nice to see they are exploring added features and such, but what are they going to do about the reasons they lost favor in the first place?
