Question How much can a Forester pull?

Manual says 2500 lbs... but that may be a stretch for the tiny 4cyl. Can it pull anything at all?

I pulled a fully loaded 6x12 U-haul with my XT, but I wouldn't want to do it all the time.

Ok... I'm looking to pull two motorcycles on a light duty trailer. I'm thinking that should be under the 2500lb limit. From what I've been reading it's not really a lack of power, it's more about controlling and braking the weight.

correct, it's mostly the control and braking.
The boxers are pretty torquey, so pulling more than 2500lbs would not be an issue.
Since I'm guessing you're in FL with no elevation changes I would say you're fine, even going over that limit a bit.

I've seen plenty of N/A Foresters pulling camper trailers around and they are pretty solid.

a bit late posting ... but this might help others, I pulled these guys from Ottawa Canada to Key-West and back ... 6000 Miles in 2 weeks ... never even felt the trailer (and its a heavy-duty steel 3500lbs rated axle trailer) with 2 sports bikes ...

great trip, Forester was a blast to drive down south and back, would do it again anytime, dont worry about pulling with a subaru, they love it
