Mine was in a buddy's WRX with a 2.5 hybrid and PPG box though, I'll see if he has the timeslip.

His was on an FP HTA green.

Haha, nice! I will have to look at the time ticket and see what the hundredths of seconds was. I doubt we have exactly the same time, one of us will be ahead. I will post a pic.

I believe my exact time was 11.73 @ 123.xx MPH, hopefully he still has the timeslip... Otherwise I'll have to go run again on the new engine I built for him.

4th is yours if I cant find the timeslip, but I guess the time and MPH should still be listed in the MWSOC shootout thread from last year. I took 3rd.

Wow it's amazing how much of a difference E85 can make. I made a 100 extra hp to the wheels just from E85. Lets all have a moment of silence for the corn. lol

True, e85 is sweet....but my days of it were short lived
I damaged my head gaskets, by running 27-28 psi, on a stock 2.5 with 65K miles.
I'm still leaking coolant at low boost levels, so until they are fixed, most of the fun is gone. Sigh....

that's rare and odd that the HG's failed. You must have had some detonation, overheated or possibly even a hydro lock at some point.

careful driving that...that is i am in the predicament i am in right now. my headgasket started seeping, and i tried to limp it for the last couple weeks before i deployed...well, when i pulled the motor apart the day before i left, the heads and block are scored from the combustion gases being pushed into the coolant passages. the block is scored to the point where sleeving is the only option to fix it...if i would have just parked it and toughed it out that last couple weeks i wouldn't be doing anything but changing a headgasket. what could have been a couple hundred dollar fix is now a couple thousand...

my buddy did the same thing with his evo. Destroyed the head and the block from combustion gases going back and forth between cylinders. Pretty awesome failure.

It's a couple thousand for me no matter what. I am not going to install the gaskets myself (don't have the means to pull out the engine), and I am also buying an arp head bolt set. Gonna replace the timing belt and all that stuff too, might as well. All said and done, bout 2500.

it's more than that if you ruin the heads or block. That's what he's getting at.

has anyone played with the new definitions (well...newish...i just found them yesterday) with the ignition dwell tables? if so, what kind of changes are working for everyone? i read over on romraider that people are seeing great results by increasing dwell anywhere from .2-.6 across the board, but this is for pump gas applications. i am just curious if anyone has seen any good results with e85.

remember dwell time is how long the coil is energized,be careful too much dwell can overheat the coils and burn them up---it may only be a quick bandaid on an insufficient ignition system and cost you some coils in the end.I would not tweak the dwell more then .2-.3,just my opinion.

i was recently told i shouldn't use any rubber fuel lines for fuel when running e85. guy told me AN only.

that alone may push me closer to meth.

no you don't HAVE to run AN most premium FI fuel line will be sufficient jake, just make sure it is rated for your pressure.
