GR8 is just the chassis code for an 08 STi

DAVCS = Dual Active Valve Control System

AVCS allows you to advance the intake cam.......DAVCS allows you to advance the intake and exahaust cams.

Old school wrx's dont have avcs.....2006-2007 STi's had AVCS.....08+ STi's have DAVCS.

try calling the thread starter...Perrin.

The gtx turbos will just replace the gt turbos in any rotated kit.....the turbos have the same T3 flanges

Tuning a GTX35R tomorrow. Maybe I can add some data. The car has a 30R on now and we just tuned the standard 35R twin scroll recently. Really excited to see how they compare

I know you knew that already but for the newbies.

Hi Clark,

It would be awesome if you could add some data that you get from that car. Which turbine housing is on the GTX35R? Will be waiting for your results!

Jasper.

I'm pretty sure the pre 08's didn't have it... 08' was the start of the gap getting way too close between the WRX and STi. Especially after the 09' VF52 change up.

2L USDM WRX did not have AVCS. 2.5L GD WRX had AVCS. GH/GR all have DAVCS. And IIRC the STI has always had DAVCS. GD STI had AVCS; GR STI has DAVCS.

2004-2007 STi = avcs

2008+ STi = davcs

It was a GTX30r .82. The car came in and had a GT35R .82 UR kit. Made 350whp on 91. Stock motor 07 STI which of course is the worst year they made. The 35R was spooled around 4700.

The 35R was removed and the GTX30R was installed and then the car was dyno tested again same day. After I tuned it to 1 psi less, The Car was fully spooled about the same as any GT30R. If anything maybe 200 rpm later. The power was 366. THe car gained HUGE midrange power because of the downsizing of the turbo and made more power at redline then the 35R. About the same power at 6000 range.

The motor was stock. It was a crappy 07 STI. So we could not push anything to hard. My opinion is that this turbo will spool almost the same as the 30R but make 30 to 50 whp more up top. Just like the garrett engineer told me it would at SEMA.

The customer was happy since he was running a GT35R on 91 which is really a loosing proposition. He gained alot of usable power.

To really test, I need a built motor car on some gas.

i got $100 that says it wasnt a gtx3071 cause clark hates them (gt3071) and would most likely never tell anyone to put one on a 2.5L
