That's sounds pretty accurate. Nothing really set in stone just yet. I'll ask the boss tomorrow and see what his thoughts are.

Oh yes... Geoff had that thing in pieces within hours of putting his hands on it. Haha. It was crazy. I'm pretty sure he's wanting to do the 7670 in .92A/R.. It'll be an amazing DD.

You better call a vendor asap and preorder if you are serious...I've been waiting for a month and I'm guessing I'll be waiting yet another...

Yeah i'm following that one but it's not showing the true potential!

I'd like to see dome data on a motor with headwork, decent fuel..timing etc

Truthfully, I have zero expectation that the EFR will outshine a GTX on a dyno. They will be neck and neck, just like in Perrin's thread. There isn't a clear winner. If everyone is waiting around for that, its simply not going to happen. There isn't any reason, on a dyno, that you would expect a clear and obvious "winner."

I'll reiterate: The BW EFR wins because of transient response and feature content. Things you won't see on a dyno, but you certainly will see on the road and in your pocket book. You will get "Garrett" performance at much less overall cost, and a much cleaner engine bay. That is the win.

I saw the results on the 8374 and 9180 and I wasn't impressed with it, esp. not all the hype and cost of it anyways.

Here's the results on a rsx:

If u analyze the data in jeffs thread it really depends on the boost ur gonna run as to who wins....at 28psi the gtx30 is the clear winner IMO.

At lower pressures it depends on if ur more interested in top end or spool.

IMO the gtx35 is being too limited by boost and Rpm to "shine"

As for it's feature set....for a new customer yes, but for anyone past a stock turbo the ebcs and bov arent really selling points...and the chra isn't prove yet.

The only thing we really know for sure is that a int wg TS efr kit will be cheaper than any ext wg TS kit

Why are you so biased? You posts are dripping with bitter hatred for the EFR, and BW in general

What did I just say that wasn't true?

Do u have reliability data for a brand new chra?

Did the gtx30 not spool 300rpm faster and make within 5whp at 28psi?

Did the efr not make 10-15whp more at lower pressures?

I merely stated that the gtx30 was better at 28psi but not below that.....If u were going to run less than 25 then the efr makes more power.

And what I Said about the ebcs and bov is true.

So again, how was it a hate filled post? It was all fact.

If jeff posted up un-labelled plots, my comments would not change. The gtx35 is simply too laggy and un-impressive without higher boost and higher rpm.
The efr doesn't make enough more whp at 28psi to justify the lag.

how one could look at these 2 plots and pick the EFR for 5whp is beyond me......i mean its kinda user preference "spool vs boost"....but for 5whp its a no contest gtx win IMO. AT THAT BOOST LEVEL.

GTX spools faster

EFR makes 5whp more

It made that or more all the way to redline where it was close. I don't know where you get 5 hp as it was not discussed, but you can clearly see that once it is spooled, it is above the GTX all the way to redline. And you of all people should know when you are on it in a drag race, you will not see 4000 rpms again after you start....heck with launch control, depending on where you set it, you may never see 4000 rpms at all from 1st through 6th. Most of the cars we set up set the launch control higher than 4000 rpms.

so in your opinion you would take the EFR.....i would take the GTX.

people can have different opinions....it is not an EFR hate opinion though...which was my point to boothman

it also depends on how one would run the tune....i could run the gtx at 28.5 psi and most likely make up that 5-10whp difference.....and have a wider powerband

I would not take either of them honestly, lol. I am going quite a bit larger But it will be a Borg Warner.

i still keep hopping between the GTX30 and GTX35 for my drag car build....EFR's are just off the table because of the wait.

I really dont wanna rev the car out to 8k....so i think the GTX35 is going to be "too laggy" at a 7500rpm redline to make sufficient use of its powerband.....so the gtx30 looks like a better choice.

also....i like v-band turbine housings vice t3 for ease of install and removal.....and the EFR doesnt have a v-band option...despite what aboothman might think, there are more things that people look at when picking a turbo besides whats hilighted in the EFR brochure....and wait time and ease of installation are 2 of my main decision factors.

I am sure it will also depend on the amount of boost you plan to run. I am going for over 30 psi, so the 7670 or the 3076 would both be poor choices for my particular application. I currently have a 91-79 journal bearing, but if I get it sold by the time the motor is ready I will go larger.
