VF34: COMPLETE teardown and re-assembly. PICS!!
Sorry if this is less than impressive to people out there...but I had always wondered what the difference between the ball-bearingVF34 and the other "normal" journal bearing VFs was. I had never heard of or seen anyone take apart a vf34 before.
So, long story short, I gave my P&P housings to a friend, and now I'm doing it again before I put the turbo back on. I got a little curious when taking the housings off....and, well, couldn't help myself.
Now I see why it's "not rebuildable," but its only because there aren't any rebuild kits available with new ball bearings.... although it has also become obvious to me that other VFs (journal bearing VFs: 30, 37, 39, etc.) ARE rebuildable, so people need to stop saying they're not!!
