I'm in the process of doing a 06 STI swap into a GC and will be running non-avcs 02-05 wrx style cams in the heads. As I understand it the wrx cam sensor is designed to pick up a magnetic signal from the left intake cam gear. As opposed to any 06+ wrx or sti that uses two hall effect sensors that pick up a signal from the back of a cam.
The wrx style cams still have pick ups on the back side that a hall effect sensor could pick up but they are opposite of what an AVCS cam has. WRX style STI style What needs to be done in order for a reflashed stock 06 STI ecu to be able to pick up the cam position correctly? |
