My Sti has been down for a month

The oil pump pressure relief valve got cocked - I noticed my oil light on and decided to take everything apart to find out the cause and check for any danage. Everything was 100% in the motor desipte all the abuse and miles of daily driving. I decided to put a new set of rings and bearings in it and its all back together.

I am going to more carfully blueprint the high volume Cosworth oil pump as this is the 2nd time I have experienced this on two different pumps

The oil pressure relief valve gets stuck in the bore and this causes a loss in oil suction when you restart the car and thus no oil pressure. I was lucky that I caught it before I boosted it or I would have had some damage. I also credit the Lucas synthetic additive I use for aiding me.

In the latest build up I am going to direct the car more towards a daily driver and more driveability and more enjoyment

Some of the instant changes are changes the P & L fuel system with 1200 injectors for Injector Dymanic high impedance injectors and the new Coswoth fuel rails

I am going to a lower lift and lower duration cam to give me more reliability and dependability in my valve train. I had the GSC Stage 3 which are very agressive and I like to rev very high - 9,000 rpms and I have seen a few motors have valve failure with those cams when reved high and over time

Thats it for now. Hopefully I will be able to keep nearly the same power as before, possibly spool a bit sooner (untested) and have a better idle and start up with those ID injectors

All the best

He's gonna be late to the game now if he picks up a GT-R Seeing as the last 2 times I was at E-town I saw 4 get banned for going 10.3, 10.8 or low 11's with stock turbo's

they got GT-Rs at dealerships out by you guys?
I tracked one down north of Chicago but even with a good amount of trying no test drive
you have to pass the financing before they let you test one, ass-backwards, "hey im interested in the new Gt-r, well lets do some paperwork first"

Amazing numbers with the subie so I just sticking with STi..
Looking forward to your next project Al

why would they risk you driving their 70k gtr into a pole on someone who cant afford one in the first place. (not saying that you cant but just an example.) back to topic

^^ thats why i asked him if they let him test drive it. They even made me do that for both my wrx and my sti because people just go to test drive them without any intention of buying them.
