No one with a brain will actually drop him, they should have drafted a RB for replacement and since first BYE's are week 5, they have some time to dwell on trading options as well.

Benson has begun serving a 20-day jail term in Texas to settle two misdemeanor assault cases. The former University of Texas star was sentenced Monday in Austin and had planned to surrender Oct. 17, during Cincinnati's bye week.

Advice: Travis County Jail records instead show Benson was booked late Tuesday. Benson's jail time could be shortened with possible credit for time served when arrested. The 28-year-old was arrested last year for allegedly punching a bar employee. He's pleaded no contest to assault with injury.

To be honest my older bro helped me a lot. He is a FF vet and knows his ****. I made a few last minute choices when he took to long to text me back but he did a lot of the strategery. Having 1st pick went better than I thought...

Draft theory advice sought

1st pick overall, starting lineup at the important positions is QB/RB/RB/WR-TE/WR-TE/WR-TE (no mandatory TE, just my choice at the WR-TE position)

All TDs are 6 points except for:
RBs who throw or catch a TD = 12 points
QBs who run or catch a TD = 12 points
WR/TEs who run or throw a TD = 12 points

At 1/1, do I go with the bellcow Adrian Peterson and look for a stronger QB in a pass-happy offense to go along with the best RB or WR available at the 2/12 and 3/1 spots?
or
Do I gamble with Vick at 1/1 and dig amongst the RB and WR available piles to get my #1 for the RB and WR positions at the 2/12 and 3/1 spots?

I have been going over this in my mind for the past week. I am not sold on Vick at 1 just yet. Even with his value pretty good to run one in every game (double points makes that a 12 point TD), Vick throwing for 1 and running for one equates to a pocket-passer QB throwing for 3 in a game.
I do like AP at 1, but my fellow league owners 'draft tendencies' and draft speculation lead me to believe that Brees/Brady/Rivers will not be there for me at 2/12.

Vick, Lesean McCoy, Tavaris Jackson(If he starts), would be high on my list with that scoring. Can't think of what other RB loves to catch and run, maybe Gore/Forte? Also McCoy is throwing better so far this year, wonder how much Hillis catches the ball for TD's.

I debated on making some moves myself but passed for waiver wire placement reasons. I've already done 6 moves mostly due to my stupid kicker getting hurt or losing the starting role.

I don't think I agree with your position importance rankings... I used to, but not anymore. I'd rather take a Calvin Johnson @ 12, who is ranked at 12 than take a Frank Gore @ 12 who is ranked 19, just because he's a RB. I am now with the school of thought that says you take the best player available in the early rounds despite his position.

The QB spot runs so deep nowadays. You can get a Ryan in 5-6, Bradford/Freeman in 6-7, or a Stafford in 7-8.

I've been trying to get into a local league for a few years now. A spot finally opened up. It's a serious league with a 1st place pot of 4k. We did our live draft the other day and the outcome was similar to your concerns. Top ten went like this:

1)Vick
2)Rodgers
3)Peterson
4)Foster
5)Charles
6)Rice
7)Johnson
8)Brady
9)MJD
10)McFadden

Brees, Hillis, Rivers, & Turner went shortly after. My buddy forewarned me about how many people would jump the gun, but I was still thrown for a loop. It is a non-PPR league with a pretty regular scoring format. I went 5th and took Charles then at 20 I took Fitzgerald who was still on the board. Why was he still on the board? I have absolutely no idea. Hell, Medenhall went like 18.

This is a 12 team league. Most of these guys are very serious but a few of them have clouded judgement due to players/teams they like. Buy-in was a little steep, but I don't bet weekly games like I used to. Should be interesting.

I have always been the 'best player available' drafter. The other owners have always been steadfast to the rankings during my time in the league (14th year), only recently slowly switching their own draft process to going for the best available player. With the rest of the competition now changing philosophy, I want to stay ahead of the lot. So I have been doing mock drafts across the net for the past month trying to shake out how things might go. It sucks that I am mock drafting against randoms who dont have the same scoring system that my league does.

With heavy weight towards QBs who throw 3+ TDs a game, I am thinking I may get lucky to get someone at 2/12 or 3/1 (perhaps later at 4/12 or 5/1) who can equal what Vick can do from a points perspective. The only tradition I am holding onto a little too steadfastly is the need for a RB that doesnt split much time. Thats why I am leaning towards AP at 1/1.

The scoring in this league is pretty ****ed up, and I want to take advantage of any opportunity I can to get players who are potenitally well-suited to the scoring. Which is why Vick is tempting.

My draft position doesnt make things any easier. Its gonna suck having to wait 22 picks before I get to go

Yes sir. Pretty neat though, every Sunday they do a football party and have a few TVs going, so the buy-in includes beer/food too. Works out to be like $25/wk over the course of the season, so its not as bad as it sounds.
