Pollol coming.

Someone asked me yesterday, "Is your number still XXX-XXX-XXXX." I said yes, of course, but I was thinking in my head was "Who the eff changes their number anymore?"
And I realized I've had the same mobile phone number since 1997 or 1998.

Same number since fall 1999.

And in a brilliant move by the cellular companies, the ONLY reason I got a cell phone at all was because it was cheaper than paying long-distance calling my friends/family.

At this time I'd also like to declare that the Motorola Startac was the best cell phone ever made.

I counter with the Nokia 8900 (I think) phones. The very small ones that were blue and red. Googling for pictures.

This one since 2002. Previous since maybe 1998. Was pissed they wouldn't port numbers back then. Think I had two before that.

My first car had a sweet hardwired cell phone that cost like a gagillion dollars a minute. Having the full sized phone with curly cord was awesome in hindsight.

My Jitterbug just came in the mail.

It's pretty hard for us older Americans to technology right.
