ok so I recieved these today and decided to install them really quick......

What I didn't know was how much of a PITA it is to redo the e-brake boot. Seriously though I thought this whole project would take me an hour tops, and here is the finished product 4 hours later

still needs to be cleaned up a bit around the e-brake area but I'm fed up with it for the night lol

Bought a 1999 RS the other day with EJ20 drivetrain...
Swap was done professionally in 05 but car in general needed a little TLC, so here's the list of what ive done yesterday and today:

DIY: new rear wheel bearings in the rear (both sides)
DIY: front axle trans seals & trans flush
DIY: EJ20G oil pan replace (+oil & filter)
Removed interior for detail
Swapped aftermarket deck w/ 03 wrx double din 6 disc
Rebuilt driver window tracks so it will go up and down
Installed new RS floor mats
Clean & Oil air filter
Made RS hood vent covers to protect filter & battery from Oregon winter!

I think that about covers it! More stuff to do and parts on the way

Traded exhausts with The King!

Now to figure out how to get Cobb catback to mate up with Invidia downpipe.
(taking suggestions, the leak is very annoying)

You should just need a flat flange 3" gasket I would imagine

I ordered one of these for my same issue on same CBE http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Grim...uble-Thickness.
It did the trick. I loosened all flanges ( DP @ turbo, DP to CBE, CB to axle back flanges ) added the double thickness one at the catback... Also note the position of your bracket where the DP actually bolts on to the frame of the car, sometimes you can play with that angle to get a better fit. I've also seen people use a high-temp sealer called "acousti-seal" not sure if that's the proper spelling.. But GL and use pry bars to help line things up when you re-tighten all your flanges.

I kissed her and told her she's been a good girl and that she deserves a full clay bar, polish, and wax+wax before the true winter months come on
