A coworker of mine has 07 sti suspension (stock struts+ h&r sport springs) complete with tophats, etc. Will this fit my 02 wrx? if not what would need to be modified to drop these in?

No they will not fit. The front struts will not bolt up. It's not easily modified to make it work either.

Struts

The following have a specific fitment for 02-03 WRX and RS, and all of the following spring and strut top fitment with these is the same as it is for the stock struts.

1. KYB AGX
2. KYB GR2
3. Koni Inserts (not a complete strut, see here for install http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1219607)
4. Tokico HP
5. Tokico D-SPEC
6. STi/SPT Version 7

To use OEM or aftermarket struts that have a specific fitment for 04-07 RS, WRX, or 04 STi, you must use 04+ style rear strut tops and 04+ springs.

2005+ STi struts will not fit.

Wagons are different, see notes below.

'02 WRX struts and springs will fit, so long as you buy '02 top hats for all four corners *and* '02 front spring perches. You don't need to buy separate rear spring perches, since they're built into the tophats. no they won't. you need '02-03 rear tophats with '02-03 springs.

I'll be using 05 oem 92x/wrx struts with 06 sit take off springs on my 02 wrx wagon. I realize I must use 04+ top hats from all I've read here. My question is related to the rear spring perches, can I use the 02-03 style rear spring perches with 04+ sit rear springs. Sorry if my question has been covered but searching here has not gotten me the answer. Thank you.
Side note, Saab 92x oe struts are said to be tuned with firmer damping.

I have a 2010 WRX. If I can acquire struts/springs from a 2011 WRX will I be able to just swap them in without modifications and have the stock 2011 ride height.

From what I've researched, the answer is yes but there might be some details I could be missing.

Well the issue will be that on the front struts the lower clevis tabs are 12.5mm LONGER which would push your wheels OUT by that much AND in the process reduce your maximum camber capability.

In reverse......someone ( me) who has a 2011 WRX who installs say GTWORX/Bilsteins which are made for the 08-2010 WRX..that person would GAIN maximum camber. So the range would be -1.0 minimum to -2.9 maximum. AWESOME for performance.

Back to you. Your maximum camber would likely be reduced to like -.8 and your minimum would go down to like +1.0 which you dont want AT ALL.

RCE, thank you for posting this thread. I was worried that OEM STi springs may be too stiff for my 07 2.5i wagon, but with your info I'm more confident my 07 wagon will sit at the stock STi ride height.

...Now, to anyone with the answer, do I need 2004 STi OEM springs or should I get another year that may fit better?

I think they're all the same.

You may also want some saggy butt shims if you're using them on a wagon.
