As some of you know i manage a team of technicians to install alarm systems/home automation systems during the summer. this is NOT summer sales, it is the actual installing IE light manual labor.
I have some open positions for install technicians again this year and am taking applications, i'm always looking for good employees. the good: lots of free time (average install takes an hour to an hour and a half, we do 2-3 a day normally in my office, sometimes up to 5 a day) when you're not installing or helping on other installs we just chill wherever. great pay. many people don't know but the average tech makes much more than the average sales rep. it's basically a guaranteed 15-20k if you stick it out the whole summer, 15 being the very low end (i.e.: slow summer, i make sure this doesn't happen in my offices), i've never had a tech in one of my offices make less than $18k over the summer, and some of my techs made $30k+ in a summer (but they worked 5 months and not 4) the more dedicated your are the more you stand to make. nice apartments during the summer, and if you hit your goals (180 installs) they are free. every tech in my office has gotten their rent reimbursement two years running, and every tech in my office has maxed out their pay-scales two years running now. system is easy to learn, color touch screen, very simple and basically guides you through the setup process. as a tech the work is pretty steady, much more stable than selling. the average tech makes more than the average sales rep, but the techs all make about the same whereas there are a few sales reps that do make over $100k in a summer, and a whole lot that just wash out and it's a waste of time for them. the bad: work 6 days a week, generally 2pm till 10pm, so long hours sales reps can be a little high-maintenence, we just smile and deal with it, i think that's a pretty universal occurrence in the workforce. also, being a tech and making 20-30k in 4 months kinda ruins you for a normal job afterwards making 30-40k a year, but having to work all year round ![]() requirements: be presentable and look professional during the summer/work times. clean cut, etc. remember you're going to be going into customers homes and working with them so professionalism, especially in your actions, goes a long way to make them feel comfortable. you should be able to improvise on installs and with working with customers, the tech is who the customers base their experience with the company on. no drugs. it's a security company and they drug test randomly. preferably no felony's. most states won't licence you for security work with a felony charge and expect up to 6 months wait for licencing with a criminal record anywhere that will, that being said there can be exceptions but they are pretty rare. honesty is huge feel free to contact me through pm for more detailed contact info. spam bots troll the forums too much to post email address here. if you are serious or know someone that would be interested let me know. i'm in Utah county and can bring anyone down for lunch at corporate M-F. I will obviously need to meet with any prospective techs to interview and a resume is always a big plus but not necessary. any questions don't hesitate to ask. also i should mention that after getting some training and experience there are opportunities to work in the off season, two of my techs have been traveling around the states installing in the off season making between $700-$1400 a week. there are also careers available as salaried service technicians that are full time year round.

I'm all in as long we service only rich and wealthy neighborhoods. We all know that while the husbands are away on "business", the house wives need attention.
