Working on next season's suspension setup for my 2003 WRX Wagon. It's a daily driver, no autocross, no track, spirited weekend driving:
Planning on buying: KYB GR2 wagon specific struts Swift Wagon springs Group-N Top hats front and rear Enkei RPF1 17x8 +45 with 225/45/17 Continental ExtremeContact DW Already have: Whiteline adjustable sway bars front and rear Whiteline endlinks front and rear Whiteline rear wagon strut bar Now, my question is will I need saggy butt spacers or rear camber bolts to prevent rubbing in the rear? I did some research and read the 17x8 +45 will rub rear fenders slightly on a wagon. I don't mind rolling the rear, but I want to make sure even after I roll, there will be no rubbing.

Hello, first venture into the Subaru world. Just picked up an 06 WRX wagon. I wanted to upgrade the suspension on it to STi's as mine are all blown. But am I reading correctly that 05+ STi suspension will not fit on my wagon? Or is it just the front?
What would I need in order to make them work? The help is greatly appreciated! |

Looking at picking up a 2011 Impreza 2.5i Premium...
What suspension will fit as a replacement? I'm looking for aftermarket coilover options. Would 08-11 WRX coilovers work out? What about a strut + Ground control coilover set up? Thanks. |

Thanks dude, you have no idea how much that helps. I love this forum, but sometimes it takes forever to just get a straight answer. I kept getting opinions on the coil overs, as opposed to the fit. Im getting them really cheap, cheaper than replacement struts are, so to me its a pretty good deal, even if they arent the best coil overs, or are only even decent.

08-10 WRX (and 08-11 Impreza) front LCA are the same as 05-09 Legacy arms. The front/rear bushings in them are common to all 08+ Impreza (including 08-10 STI) and the 07-09 Legacy SpecB (other Legacies use softer interchangeable bushings). LCA are interchangeable with the 05-09 Legacies, including the aluminum arms used on the 07-09 Legacy Spec B. STI has a wider aluminum LCA that is too wide for the 08-10 WRX. 11-12 WRX has a wider arm, interchangeable with the 08-12 STI, but made of steel not aluminum (I suspect this is the same as a 09-11 Forester LCA). 11-12 STI got a new "pillow ball" rear bushing in the LCA, the arm was revised for this, the new bushing is no longer interchangeable with other Impreza/Legacy arms. There are rubber "Group-N" bushings available for these LCAs if you know where to look. Lots of urethane and metal options available too, most branded as an "ALK" My 09 WRX stock LCA next to the SpecB Al version: ![]() Rear Arms: 08-12 Impreza are all the same rear arms including WRX and STI, arms bushings etc all the same on all models. There is a Subaru JDM arm kit for the Impreza, features pillow-ball bushings for the rear LCA and toe arm. There are a few Group-N bushing available as well as a bunch of urethane bushing options. ![]() |

To answer my own question.. Looks like the Whiteline RCA kit is for 02-12 application.
Looks like front endlinks also work 02-12. Last edited by abacall; 01-03-2012 at 03:05 PM. |

QUESTION:
What suspension parts from other year/model cars will fit my 98 forester L?? I want to get a little lift on it, wasnt sure if a OEM spring/strut combo from a tribeca or something could work.... or even a raising spring for a newer year forester or wrx.......HELP |

Hey guys, I have a set of coilovers made for the 5x114 (05-07Sti) and I want to make it fit my car, a 06 Wrx Tr with the standard 5x100.
I don t want to spend a lot for the 5x114 conversion... could it be possible to extend, enlarge the holes on the coilovers to fit the bolts in at the bottom? ![]() has someone tried that? |

There's a big wagon thread somewhere on here. One option is springs from an STI + rear top mounts from an STI (required) + Scooby921 spacer (required) + a saggy butt shim (optional, i'd probably do it).
I'd call TIC for those extras and find the springs used somewhere on here. No idea how they'll work with Monroe struts....wouldn't expect them to be a great performance choice but i haven't heard much about those. - Andrew |

2004 to 2007 for springs and mounts, the later the better just to get them in good condition. If the struts are the same as OEM then everything will work fine with that scooby921 spacer on the rear struts with the 04 to 07 STI rear mounts.

Nope. It will be good to get a fresh set of topmounts to replace old worn out 8 year old ones but they can be from a WRX or an STI.
