I have a map that I downloaded from torque performance. Stage two I feel that it's a good map but just curious on what everyone else is using.

I've used his stage 1 and 2 maps and they were both great. Eric worked with me over a few weeks to get my stage 2 map fine tuned just for my car.

Read a lot of stuff, here and (especially) at romraider.com. Bought the Tactix adapter, bought a couple books, learned to make data logs, learned to read data logs, learned what to change in the tune in order to get the changes I wanted to see in the data logs. There's a big learning curve but if you enjoy learning and enjoy tinkering with motors it's all pretty fun.
Well, troubleshooting can be a bitch, but other than that it's all fun. When I have stuff figured out, I usually write about it. I hope this helps: http://www.romraider.com/RomRaider/I...eGuideToTuning |

+1 for Torqued Performance. I am running stage 1 now but already have the map for 2. Just need the DP. Eric is a great guy and responds very quickly. He looked over my logs after stage 1 and gave me that bit of confidence I was worried about needing.

Heck, I even went through the stock ROM and stage 1 to see the differences. Amazing what a few different parameters can provide. |

I didn't blow my engine, I make pretty good power, and I learned more than I thought there was to know about how engines work. It took a couple years, instead of just paying a professional for one afternoon, but it was totally worth it. It would have gone a lot faster if I wasn't changing parts every few months, but that was part of the fun.

Do my own tuning, but I do like to get a tune from other guys now and then to compare, but TBH always go back to my own work as I am always tweaking and experimenting.
I know my own vehicles pretty well and take care of all the hardware installs and tuning so over time its a nice place to be. Started by reading, learning, trial and error, getting advice, listening to other tuners as they tuned my vehicle etc, lots of analysis and experimentation, not always with good results ;-) Ask ?s and get FB, some good guys on these boards. Must have self flashed over a 1000 times and tuned over 250 other vehicles, Subarus and various others. Very interesting stuff and keeps money in my pocket.. ;-) Last edited by Kastley85891; 01-07-2012 at 08:57 PM. |
