I was under the influence that you were going to transfer the steering rack and dash by welding everything in making the car RHD.

One question...Did you do a compression check on the cylinders before installing the motor?

Thanks for posting this as well as the other thread link. Helps alot.

Lol. Definitely not going RHD. The RS rack is just fine for my purposes.

I didn't do a compression check before installing the motor. I don't know how to do one without cranking the motor over. I just put it in and prayed it would start. I still haven't done one actually... But with 20,000 km on the swap so far...

Yeah. It's nice for sure but the VF30 doesn't use it. Power drops off after 7k. If you're in BC, check out the Western Subaru Club. Great crowd there.

Ignoring the curbed winter rims...

Untitled by zcherniawsky, on Flickr

I picked up my new winter tires and had them mounted. After rocking Michelin X-Ice for a few winters, its time to upgrade and I chose Nokian Hakkapelita R in 225/45/17

Speaking of wheels, I finally completed the summer wheel modification this past week when I picked up a set of 4 stickers. When the wheels were sandblasted for powdercoating, I lost the decals. The detail was lacking over the summer and it needed to be fixed.

Installed my new Velocity Carbon V1 FRP trunk when I got it back from the painter. It was raining pretty solidly last night so I couldn't take many pics. More to come soon.

Figured that before I put the winter tires on, I should go out and take a few pics. A lot of the locations I wanted to try out had construction (yay Calgary!) so I was forced to improvise. I think they turned out ok though.

Well. Its been a slow winter for mods... we recently had some solid -49*C (with windchill) weather and, ill be honest, it was terrible. The car handled it like a champ though. Didn't even need to plug in the block heater.

I've been picking up parts that will either get installed soon (if im bored and restless) or, more likely, in the spring when its not terrible to work in my unheated garage.

I picked up an Aquamist HFS-6 and some Maddad UEL headers which I had coated and then wrapped.

installed some B-Quiet sound deadening in my Velocity Carbon V1 FRP Trunk

The drone on the highway was getting to me.

Its cheaper than dynamat and works really well.

I also decided that it was time to switch up the suspension. The car is currently sitting on Tokico D-Specs and Tanabe GF210 springs but a set of ST Coilovers (by KW but not stainless) came up locally for a really good deal so I pounced on them.

I also picked up a set of RCE Lowering Camber plates to go with them.

And finally... i had to swap to some black-painted brembos cause I was actually borrowing the gold set from a friend. They were looking pretty plain so I my local decal guy whip up something nice for them.

I keep meaning to go out and shoot some more photos, but with the winter rims and the car constantly being filthy... it just doesn't seem worth it.

Oh, and my Advan RCII's are for sale. If you're interested, shoot me a pm.

Ride quality is much better than my tanabe GF210s and tokico d-specs. The springs are stiffer and you feel more bumps than with the GF210's but the damping is so much better that what I had before that the bumps dont feel as bad.

Ill probably do some fine tuning on the height, especially when i switch to my summer rims in a few months (May.... it seems so far)

Thanks! I really like the trunk too. Makes it a little less flashy. Still gets a lot of good attention, but a lot less of the bad attention from ricers and trucks wanting to race me from a light.

Thanks! Its definitely come a lot way from when I picked it up in 2007 as a completely stock RS.

Yay for blurry iphone pics!

Well. Im being dumb and putting my summer wheels/tires back on in March. This winter has been non-existant here. We're guaranteed some more snow, but Ill just take the other Subaru if that happens.

Cause I know it'll get asked, wheels are Sonic Tuning ST8's in 18x8.5 +35 with 245/35/18 Bridgestone Potenza Re760 Sports.

Yes. It rubs. A lot.

Untitled by zcherniawsky, on Flickr

Going to need to roll the front fenders and maybe add a little negative camber.

Yeah, its very very doable in less than 9 months. Life just kinda got in the way. I planned to work on it after work but that never happened so I basically just spent 1 day per week on it. I had two really good friends that were there helping me so that was good.

Ill take a gander through your thread.

Looks amazing man! The only thing I would change is that grill... dont understand why anyone likes that thing! Besides that it looks incredible to me. Always nice to see some N/A to STI cars, gives me inspiration.
