it will all pend out when i get the motor back into the car and see what kind of room i have to play with. i have to take into consideration that i need to move the throttle body so depending on where it goes ill have to see.... if not i wanted to do something with the center hood scoop atleast.

whats the difference its a full build? powertrains really getting nothing special till the body works done anyways. plus im waiting for parts for the engine still.
updated: 99 manifolds on the way. will do a couple test fits, drill out the map sensor hols and then send it to powdercoat. im at a standstill on the motor until then. im pulling the transmission and differential this weekend hopefulley so i can clean them up. after that its all body work before idrop the motor back in... will paint the engine bay, chip guard and bedliner all the underneath of the car when its in primer and get her running and get all the suspension back in.... after shes a runner ill paint it |

why not. Its not a race car. Its just a dd. More or so for body protection. Iim just using duplicolor bedliner so it wont be horribly thick like line x or rhino line

Why not just build it the way you want? Oh wait that's what you're doing.
Keep it up |

if it wasent for all the crap i ran into with this car i would of said screw it and dropped a na motor back in and been done with it but unfortunately i ran into all the crap and not to mention i cant deal with HACK work done by the previous owner and whatever shops hes taken the car too... the supercharger was just a little added extra bonus since i got the engine internals relatively cheap. this car isnt going to be a garage queen. its going to abe a daily that will see snow, salt, rain, and whatever else gets thrown at it. its awd and i dont see the point of not being able to take your awd car out in the snow lol.
some tid bits.... had to replace the knock sensor, cam and crank position sensors. still waiting for this 99 manifold to show up. i have a wedding to attend this weekend so im basically at a stand still all weekend. going to get the trans out tomorow and thats about all i will get done. ordered a rear body panel because i decided im going to replace what this hack shop did to the rear of the car and start completely over. extra 200 welll worth it. |

Still feeling like you want to make a pulley rather than buy a modular system for the SC'er, i'm hurt.

ill have an update tomorow. i ran into a snag.... didnt think twice about bringing my impact sockets and monster breaker bar home. i got the strut bolts and control arm bolts being a huge nightmare to where my impact gun doesnt even want to break them loose.
brokem my 1/2 to 3/8s adapter so i put myself at a stand still.... stripped some more of the car down though. in 2 weeks roughly its gunna go over t my buddies garage since its a body shop at home so we can start the body work and finish it. |

it doesnt really matter.... if you have had the chicken pox you can get it. i was the 1st of my 2 siblings and i was the first to get chicken pox. normally this stuff happens to older people but im like the youngest case ever at the age of 22.... well 23 the 17th of this month.
none the less it sucks. i need to pay off my paypal account and finish buying my stuff. i got a free edfc control unit and power harness. now all i need to do is buy a motor kit and one other harness and send the teins out to get rebuilt. no im debating one thing here..... do i wanna delete the spare tire well and just make a little recess or keep it. the screw for the spares busted off and im not putting the spare back in it. cars also had a ****ty trunk floor replacement when it was rear ended at one point in time by the previous owner. |

thanks. i appreciate that.
like ive said before. the whole point of this build is to do it on a "budget" but without doing hack work, cutting corners, and what not. there are some things that required a bit of a sacrifice such as using epoxy paint for the suspension over powdercoat but we will see how long it lasts though. the body work is something that i couldnt stand and refuse to deal with hack ass work done by other people. these gerbers, collision centers of america, collision revision, cars, car care collision and others of the sort should be out of business because this is the type of crap that comes out of shops like that. |

Quite stellar work. You give me a lot to aspire to...I'm never going to make my Impreza look that good, but it might look okay.
On the rust note, have you removed the interior yet? My '99 OBS (wagon) has the same sort of rust on the quarter panels, but it also has quite a bit on the interior wheelwells, especially between where the seatbelt mounts and the strut top. I'm just wondering. Keep it up, peace. |

yaeh my interiors gutted completely except for the wiring harness, emergency brake handle, steering wheel and dash parts. no rust in that area. the only wheel well rust i have is where the retards who did the work on it welded it and never sealed it properly.
the outbacks have a c pillar with a lot more seems in it then the imprezas so im 100% sure theres seams that dont have any seam sealer or anything there to help prevent water from sitting. i will do a write up as i get to the quarter panels so people can see what needs to be done upon putting new quarters on. theres A LOT of seams to be caulked over. thanks for the compliments. skys the limit man. i had no intentions of doing it to this car and in all honesty if i didnt do 3/4s of the work id be screwed. |
