from northern jersey outside NYC- go to johnson and wales univ. in providence, ri. as a junior may move to denver for senior yr.
ignore my slightly liquored up grammatical errors and emotion.
i've always wanted to move out to CO but my school would allow me to switch over to their Denver campus with basically no issue.. it'd definitely be a complete 180 from what providence is like (sketchy as helll but fun, the best way to describe it is diverse.).
i'd lose out on the last year with my roommates i've lived with for the last 3 years and almost all my friends i've made in the same time; unlike high school i'll actually miss those people and it'll actually be depressing. losing those i've gained over the last few years would be real rough.
on the + side, since i want to start a life in CO i could build some routes in denver since i still have to do two types of internships. after graduation i may be able to avoid moving home and immediately start a career where i dreamt to..
on the - i am risking money by delaying graduation or regretting my decision. also, transportation. i think the subie could make the journey out there (and maybe fly back home over say christmas break and leave my car there?) she's at 78k already so thats another issue.
the BIGGEST dilemma is cost of an apartment. dorm life in providence was unbearable but so convenient for class and i met A LOT of people, all freshman though...after freshman year i've lived off campus which is pretty normal here.. in CO, i could maybe find a 1 bedroom within an acceptable price range but then i'd be stuck to only meeting people via class and miss out on the whole social aspect.
i'm a relatively social person i suppose, i can definitely spark a conversation up and such but to gain a whole new base of friends with absolutely 0 people i know already is scary, esp. so far from home...
basically...
i'm trying to decide if i want to drop everything i've gained in the last 3 years and move to denver, nearly 1800 miles away, and not know a single person for my senior year of college but i can make my "after college i want to move to" scenario a real possibility.
sell me on moving to denver.
(wow it's still early there huh?)
edit: should probably mention i'm a business management major w a concentration in entrepreneurship
