I think I might have more pictures of it on Flickr, but honestly just look up any 08+ sti with an n1.

I personally think the hatch is the only one that can pull off the n1. It looks good and sound great. Its a tad loud on the highway but it doesn't even compare to my magnaflow.

I say do it, and just hang something on the other side.

Agree with louie, multi piece wheels always look smaller because of the lips and hardware. However they would look so much better on that car if he had meaty tires.

I've searched for pics &vids... couldn't find many on a hatch. I recall seeing a pic in the locked '11-'12 threads of the white hatch on the lift. Appreciate your thoughts! I was thinking of mounting a tow hook on the other side. One of my good friends said he'd he give me one of his extra hooks to balance it out.

Thats how the urban cowboys do it. They want the urban hella-flushness but still be hella-functionable with the ride height.
The wheels are actually 18 x 9.5 +43. They look small because of the 3-piece construction and tires are narrower than they should be (stretched). The tires are 235/40/18. But going with 255/35/18 would mean rubbing the coilovers on the inside. The car is lowered on KW V3, there's only about .75" gap between the tire and fender, which is the lowest I can tolerate.

No I was saying the ones I tried on were 18x10. I wasn't referring to yours but these.

Sorry for the confusion. I was really responding to the other comments by quoting your post. This picture probably gives a better perspective of why the tires look small, as a large portion of it is hiding in the shadow of the fenders due to the stretch.

you should be able to get away with a 255, i don't see why not. i'm going with a 275. and i only have 5mm on you because i'm +38 one the same wheel dimension.

it would look better if you were slammed. but now, a stretched tire just looks out of place in pictures. i'm sure it looks better in person though, pictures always bring out the worst.

Thanks cenoevo... did he need longer hangers, or were the stock ok? Hear some stories about bumper meltage.

you NEED longer hangers. that wrx that you saw me post. we put on that exhaust, went for a spirited drive, came back and the bumper was melted.

i suggest simply putting one kartboy XL hanger in the rear most hanger and you will be okay.

Thanks for the kind words. I think it does look a bit better in person as the tires do show quite a bit better. I originally thought I could fit 255 as well. I would be fine if I have stock suspension or aftermarket struts, but not KW coilover. In a normal strut, the spring sits above the tire, so as long as the wheel fits, the size of tire typically wouldn't be a problem. For KW coilover, the lower spring perch is right next to the tire, not above. As it sits now with 235, I only have about 5mm clearance between the inner tire sidewall and lower spring perch. The shop thinks I might be able to get away with 255 if I add 5mm spacer. Well, when it comes time for new tires, I'll definitely get a meatier one, but the biggest I can do without spacers might be 245.

how tight is the clearance? I can slide my hand with my fingers extended between the tips and the plastic up to my palm.

The clearance on the invidia n1 doesn't exist. Its different for quadtips and other exhausts, there is literally no room on the n1.

Why does the STi look so much better than a WRX with the same spoiler? Btw your last pic is my new background.
