Looking to eventually purchase an STI or WRX donor car to swap my Impreza, and was wondering if anyone here has the proper license(s) to purchase a car from copart.com. Trying to avoid $800+ in fees here

Yeah, well, I'm in the market for a WRX with a blown engine, as I will have a spare WRX engine soon.

I'm looking too! Even if you don't need a license on some auctions, I'm still looking for some general advice on how to purchase at auction. How do you know you're getting what you think you see in the listing? Any chance to inspect the car before paying? etc.

Don't see the harm in bumping since he was asking the same question. Necro bump or new thread.. same end result really.
You guys might want to ask around on the factory five forum. A lot of people are dealing with copart right now to get donors for their 818's. Then again, maybe it's a bad time since more people than usual are competing against you for cars ![]() http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showt...my-experience& http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showt...-now-CLEAN-UP& |

This site seems fishy too me.. A hummer for 4,000... And S2000 for 2500.. Obv I know nothing of the auction business but if this sites legit I will be purchasing both of these cars soon. Haha any info you can give me would be appreciated?

Copart gets a lot of stuff that is in less than ideal condition. I'm guessing that for a $4000 Hummer or a $2500 S2000, there are going to be significant enough issues with it that you'd be buying it as a parts car, not something that you plan on actually driving.

If you're looking for a GOOD used car, than go to a dealership and buy a new car or take your chances with a preowned car. If you're looking for a cheap car that you can either fix on your own for cheap using resources available to you than Copart and other auto auctions may benefit in your favor. I have used Copart for buying a donor car for myself or friends when building a car and you need more than just a few odd things here and there. Whatever you don't use, you can just sell. |

The hummer was 2 days away from the end bid so who knows where it went. But the only (visible) damage was the driver door and front panel (looked like a side swipe) but good info here. I was interested in the S2k as a strictly show/track build. The hummer was just curiosity. What's the process in being able to buy from copart?

I'm too lazy to read all the replies - but I did end up buying a donor from IAAI.com and used ridesafely.com as a broker. All went smoothly
